What upsets me is the "Politically Correct" language to describe what kind of American "he - she or they" are. If you legally reside in the USA by way of taking the Citizenship Oath and becoming an American or you're a Natural Born White, Hispanic, African, Korean, Vietnamiez, Italian, Indian, etc. you are American First.
I am A Proud American. An American First of German, Irish and Cherokee Indian origin and heritage. I do not walk around saying I'm a German, Irish, Cherokee American.
I am simply an American who's forefathers came to this country and decided THIS is where their family line would continue. I DO NOT KNOW if they were forced to be in the country thru white slavery, kidnapping, wife purchasing or indentured slavery. Guess what, I don't care either, I'm in the best frick'in country in the world, the free world and greatful that no matter how my ancesters ended up here that I am lucky enough to have been born HERE where the flag flys free and our military don't try to kill us.

Maybe kitsch 'n' sync should be renamed "venues where the refined form of pop mimicry and fantasy role play may be respectfully viewed and executed by the sophisticated denizens of our fair city."

All of us karaoke fans around Tulsa really don't appreciate the slander ur magazine has thrown our way withe the Kitsch 'N' Sync joke. What is really frustrating is the refusal to end the on going joke in ur magazine. You can be assured that every karaoke fan in the Tulsa area will be informed of Urban Tulsa's insensitivity. I will also do my part to have ur magazine boycotted by readers and advertisers alike. The only thing "in bad taste" here is Urban Tulsa's handling of the situation.
As a Mexican American Male, I am insulted and disgusted by city officials who believe that all hispanic's are drug cartel. I have been haressed, Stalked and intimidated by the same officials that are to serve and Protect.
I was especially horrified by the actions of Federal Public Defender Julia O'Connell. Her actions were unethical and illegal.
It is my conviction that if you are "Hispanic" you will not get a fair shake in this beautiful city - I called home.. TULSA
It is also evident that they will stop at nothing to incarcerate there subject.. In my case "institutionalize.."

Yeh I am upset with this weekly paper that is used for promoting local intertainment and talent. To sectionalize a set of personal intertainment people as in blue collar up to white collar people who all gather for the sole purpose of having fun and singing there hart out or just watching. The part of (sync) is correct as in to syncronize music to lyrics. But to use a word as in (kistch) whitch is German for trash!!!!What it is used for now day's more commonly as a word for poor taste,poor quality and so on. I think UTW owes the patrons and club owners as well an apology! Thank you for reading and keep up the singing all. As long as there is a song in your heart,,,,sing it.
i'm pissed off @ urban tulsa for having the bad taste to insult and make a joke of all the bars in tulsa that advertize karaoke in your rag. someone on your staff took it upon themselves to name the karaoke directory kitsch n sync, the word kitsch german for worthless and an art form in bad taste. all the while you guys are taking money from those bar owners to advertize karaoke every week. you guys really piss me off

I absolutely loved the Billy Squier concert last Thursday and he did an amazing show again. I have never missed one of his concerts when coming through Tulsa.
He is amazing!!!! The venue and River Spirit Casino on the other hand was horrible....they had VIP seating for their high rollers and those who were just lowly fans stood behind a wall for 2 hours! I was fortunate enough to stand next to the sound board next to the wall. Unfortunately I got to hear the River Spirit Casino plot and plan taking pictures of Billy without his signed release! They were swearing and saying they don't give a *&(#*&$ whether he signed a release or not!
Billy Squier who is a guitar GOD deserves better than that! Any artist should be warned before playing at one of these meat markets! For the true fans of Billy who stood behind a wall...Tulsa could show Billy Squier so much better hospitality and true fan spirit!
Urban Tulsa Weekly should think before advertising a free concert knowing the true fans get the shaft!
I live in Owasso and I had Channel 8 on my HDTV using a flat panel antenna until they apparently turned off their analog signal on the switchover date. I talked to the engineer who said to use rabbit ears because the flat panel receivers don't really work as well. How come I was receiving it fine with the flat antenna I had and now I can't get the rabbit ears to pick it up using auto program? I've talked to alot of people here in Owasso and they aren't receiving it either.If Channel 8 and 11 are on the same tower in Coweta how is that I receive Channel 11 and not 8? I do realize they had to move back to VHF because there wasn't enough bandwidth on UHF but this is ridiculous.
I am so aggrivated about HDTV. . .we live out of city limits in a small town and even w/an outside antannae and and HD ready TV, hardly any of the channels ever come in. The reception sucks. . .I don't know whose idea it was to have HDTV but I think that it's the stupidest thing ever thought up!! They should have left it all alone. Now, the only way we could ever be able to watch anything without it screwing up would be to get a satellite and their prices are outrageously ridiculous. HDTV SUCKS!!! They need to put it back the way it was. . .analog, at least we could get all the channels and actually be able to watch a full episode or movie.
All over Tulsa there are "yield" signs where there should be "merge" signs which makes me nuts. You need to "merge" when entering the Hiway not yield. The majority of drivers in Tulsa don't have a clue how or when to merge. Makes me want to scream & honk my horn (which I have been known to do). Oh and by the way if you're in the wrong lane to turn or exit don't slam on your brakes, cut someone off to turn or exit. Be civilized and keep going, get over and then turn around and come back to your turn or exit. FYI you are not more important than the other drivers on the road!
I have noticed how the price of gas for this summer has gone back Up..! Aprox. $2.49 for the cheap stuff ( regular ) I was wondering does this translate to Q.T. Stores are planning on building yet another giant building or something to that effect...?? It does seem like WE pay for alot of things inside the price of gasoline. Smart Cars and Nano's.....Gimme one of those lil puppies...!

There is reason there are 2 designated paths in this area of town. So don't get mad when you and your child get run over by someone who is biking if you standing on the path clearly marked for bikers. Pay attention to your surroundings and mind your manners people!!! We don't ride where you walk so don't stand/play where we ride.

The people that call on their neighbors for high grass and then smile in their faces! These type of people piss me off! Feuding neighbors can kill. Check out Dateline.com about the three neighbors feuding where the one neighbor shot and killed the couple! It was sad it went that far.
