A relatively young company, Senomyx, may be responsible for the sodium and sugar levels falling in various grocery store items. They may be putting chemicals into your food right now, without telling you and without you even realizing. Under the law, they don't have to.
Senomyx has contracted with Kraft, Nestle, Coca Cola, and Campbell Soup to put a chemical in foods that masks bitter flavors by turning off bitter flavor receptors on your tongue. The companies can then reduce sugar and sodium levels by approximately half without affecting the flavor.
All of the companies declined to identify which foods and beverages the chemical additives have been or will be added to. These chemical compounds are not required to be listed separately on food labels; they are grouped into the general category of "artificial flavors."
Senomyx was able to obtain FDA approval and a "generally recognized as safe" classification from the Flavor and Extract Manufacturers Association in less than a year and a half, based on a safety study of rats conducted for just 3 months.
Food items that are most likely to contain these new chemicals include soups, juices (fruit and vegetable), ice cream and sauces.

On Thursday, May 8, 2008 several pet owners were given tickets for violating the pet leash laws in a park in Tulsa. The pet owners were operating under the delusion they were in a Pet Park.
What is with Tulsa? No Pet Park? OKC has one. Tulsa wake up! Your not keeping up with the Jone's anymore. They scooped yopu on a big NBA deal a fancy smancy River walk next to a fake river and now they got a place for dogs to poop and we don't.
You bet Im PISSED OFF, I have been looking for work in my Field Of Expertes(Machine/Building Maintenance-Computers/Installations/Repair-Call Centers,Not the so called Boiler Room where you have sell sell sell and sell some more just to keep your job)But at my age[55] and the Degree and a 1/2 that I have worked hard to obtain, the standard reply is Your Over Quilified!!!! But if you know someone here in town or the county or the state the test are waved and the job is yours, this city that I live in {13 yrs now} is nothing but a Nepotisum Town where if you are not related to someone all you can get is fast food,dishwasher,janitor job that pay so damn low you would have to live on the streets or in some low cost slum-crime-ridden apartment where if your not careful you could end up on the death count. The preferential treatment give to ones who have been given the Blessing by the New/Old Money in this town to have the job they want for life and the Golden Retirement afterwords. I have the skills education and common sense(gees what the hell is that common sense?) to do just about any job and to be paid well for it. Wake Up you snotty nose Boys and Girls, there are people over 45 that can and will work you Brats under the table, and go home afterward knowing that they have done a good job and showed you Snotty,Bratty Boys and Girls How Work Is suppose to be Done, and that goes for the OLD BOYS CLUB, who only concern is for them selves, there mistress, and MAYBE there wives and childrens. So I will continue to look for the right person in the right company that will look past my age and HIRE me for my qualifications.( Boy what Fantasy life I live in). One more thing be for I hit the can to finish my Being PISSED OFF. I have had to get on food stamps and someother goverment programs, which I am very ashamed to be on. I am pissed off because Oklahoma is number 2 in the country for animal neglect and puppy mills. The pet overpopulation crisis is at an all time high here in Oklahoma and all anyone wants to do is whine that the animal shelter is understaffed and underfunded. So far this year there are more dog bite incidents than any other year on record, and no one wants to take the time to look into it further than animal control. What about the fact we are one of the only states in the ENTIRE country that has no regulations on puppy mills whatsoever therefor more and more breeders are moving here and creating a mass pet overpopluation problem. Since we have NO regulation we may actually be number 1 in the country for puppy mills BUT since there is no accurate way of keeping track other than the few breeders that did register with the USDA for interstate commerce issues, we rate at number 2 for the moment. Every Bill that is put before committee to regulate such places dies before it hits the floor because a lot of the rural constituants are afraid of losing their seat if they vote for regulation because they know there are a lot of breeders in their areas and they are afraid the regulation would spill over into livestock when in fact the Bill clearly states dogs and cats ONLY. So what REALLY pisses me off is there is no bandaid for this problem, we cannot simply blame animal control for it and no one seems interested in the plain simple truth, that we, as Oklahomans, have the WORST reputation in the COUNTRY as inbred puppy farmers and other cities regularly write articles on how disgusting it is in Oklahoma's puppy mills and how many animals we euthanize per year. Aren't you proud to be an Oklahoman?

Puppy mills are breeding facilities that house dogs in poor conditions where they are bred and sold for profit. Many of these dogs are caged for years, bred continuously, and lack social skills because they receive no human companionship.
Once puppy mill dogs are no longer fertile, they are commonly killed, abandoned, or sold to another puppy mill. The result of puppy mills is hundreds of thousands of puppies, many with behavior or health problems, and many with little hope of ever being adopted.
Puppy mills exist because unsuspecting consumers keep buying dogs from pet stores, classifieds, or over the internet.
I'm ashamed to live in a state that won't listen to this issue. In other words this makes Oklahoma look like what I hear Oklahoma is (inbred rednecks)!

Im pissed off that puppy mills in Tulsa are so out of hand. I know theres alot of white trash and ghetto trash in Tulsa but this has got to stop. Puppy mills should be illegal!!!

I am very pissed off that the Oklahoma Politicians won't do anything about the cruelty to animals and to help shut down the puppy mills here in our state. Oklahoma is going to hell in a hand basket and fast because it seems we don't have people in office here that have a back bone to do their job. They are more worried about making someone mad than doing what is right. We need to all band together and fight to get the laws changed i for one will gladly do my part to help get the laws changed.
