Below is an article regarding the way the House Ways and Means Committee of our House of Representatives are NOT representing we the citizens of the USA.
Profiles in Cowardice House Ways and Means Committee
There are 435 members of the House of Representatives. Currently, 41 representatives serve on the House Ways and Means Committee. This committee has been around from the very beginning of our government in the late 18th century. The Constitution requires that all tax bills originate in the House of Representatives and the House rules have evolved over time so that tax bills must be approved by the Ways and Means Committee before they may be presented for debate and passage by the entire House membership. This gives tremendous influence and power to Ways and Means. It was not always so. In the beginning the entire House voted on the merits of a proposal and the Ways and Means Committee wrote the bill. This is the way it should be. Alas, we now allow less than 10% of our Representatives to control taxation. This is the way it should not be!
If a bill is introduced that represents an epic change in our federal taxation practices, the Ways and Means Committee should send it to the House floor automatically. Let it be debated publicly by the full house. Let all Americans see what the legislation entails and what position their representatives take on it. It is grossly unfair for a small group of politicians to sit on a bill of such import and let it languish indefinitely “in committee.”
Just such a bill has been stuck in the Ways and Means Committee since 2005. Known as the FairTax Bill, it is represents a great deal more than some minor changes in the Tax Code. It would revolutionize the way the Federal Government is funded. A non-partisan and non-profit organization spent 12 years and $22 million researching and developing this plan. It represents the hopes of millions of Americans who have joined a rapidly expanding grass roots movement to enact this legislation. They deserve to have their bill presented to all 435 members of the House. It is grossly presumptuous of the Ways and Means Committee to pretend they know better what is in our best interests than we and the full House do. Even committee members who are against the Bill should allow it to go to the full House out of respect for the will of the people they claim to represent. It is too important to too many Americans to be denied full House debate and consideration.
Why is House Ways and Means sitting on this Bill? What is it that they fear? It is us that they fear. Passage of the FairTax would constitute the largest transfer of power from the government to the people in our history. Knowledge of the FairTax is spreading like a wild fire across the USA. Soon politicians will rue the day that they stood blocking its path. If John Kennedy were alive to write a book about the Ways and Means Committee he could aptly title it, “Profiles in Cowardice.”

Ok you guys...One of Urban Tulsa's Competitors, The Tulsa World came out with a Sunday Edition of photos pertaining to the Eagles Concert and Grand Opening of The Exciting and New BOK Center. Great....well, sort of. The Front Page Photo of the Eagles as one example looked like the World Photographer took the Pic using a Kodak 35mm Instamatic Camera....! Then inside the newspaper...more photos of the BOK scene and all of those photos looked like ummm...maybe they used a Polaroid Land Camera...??? I paid bucks for that edition, but Whew....! Has the Tulsa World ever even heard of the New Digital Camera craze..? I mean....Duh...!
The "BIG BANG" experiments now going on in Switzerland, Geneva and France. This is a new issue presented very recently by the news media, something I had NO idea was even going on or is currently in progress until a few days ago. It looks terribly exspensive and appears to have many many people working diligently on it as well. After being shown what I've been shown thus far about this incredlible effort of scientists and the like, I find myself seriously asking: Do the Federal Government People who oversee such projects wholeheartedly Approve of this endeavour? Who's going to answer for any harm or distruction that could possibly occur with this project? As Tom Brokaw on television galantly put it: "Do they know what they're doing? I hope so..! "
In closing, does anyone have the right to object to this Big Bang Experimentation or do "WE" all just get to go along for the ride...like it or not ?
You better believe I am...I'm very upset that the principal at North Tulsa's Mclain High School is a liar and two-faced coward. He lies to the parents smiles in thier faces and agrees with whom ever he is talking to at the time. He allows a hand full of low lifed illiterate gang leader girls to control and run the school. Mr. Williams need to be put out of the Tulsa Public School system. There has been violence to the point that a child almost lost his life, and it will happen if he doesn't start being more of a man than a wimp.
I finally...that's "finally" got to see "Iron Man" the movie. It took so long for it to make it to the Block Buster Video Store near where I live. Whew..! I must say that this movie was delightful and so well articulated in the special video effects and visual scenes... I can't believe it took so long to make it to Block Buster...!!! Geeze...! Whaddabummer. Oh...and the dude at Block Buster Videos says it won't be until Novemeber or so that "Dark Angel" will be available on DVD. Now that sucks !!!
Well frankly...I am pissed off about so many things I really don't know where to start... What are the resturants in Tulsa thinking...seriously the prices have gotten totally ridiculous. This is not New York city or LA. Adjust your prices for this region or be prepared to go out of business. It's really as simple as that. As a couple we have agreed to stop paying $100.00 for a Friday night meal. We will instead put that $100.00 in the bank and for about $30.00 have one hell of a steak dinner and a glass of wine at home..and not have to worry about the DUI for desert. (:
Ok, my first comment didn't get the big up your bootie boot, so I will give it another try. Yes I am really pissed off...and nobody know it but me...lalalala..... song right? I operate an apartment communtiy and I also have a few rental properties. I am so pissed off and disgusted by the way some people choose to live. Roachs. Mice. Filth. They can't even get off their fannies to throw away the McDonalds trash and so they keep it. And keep it. And keep it. Until the bottom of the paper cup half full of diet coke melts away and leaks onto the wood coffee table. You know, the one that mom so proudly gave them for their first apartment...the one that used to be grandmothers? They leave food and soda out as if to feed the roachs that are now so common they don't even stop to squish anymore. It is just a small part of their miserable existance. An existance that includes the never ending "new job". The new jobs that just keep coming...month after month..new job, looking for a new job, just got a new job, applying for a new job. Or the entertaining domestic issues. It is just not enough that they fight, screem, hit, threathen curse at and abuse their "loved ones" they like to do this out in the open so they can include all the neighbors. .... And so when their place is finally full of trash and the landlord can't wait any longer for the "new job" first paycheck...they move on. Leaving all the roachs, mice, holes in the walls, grandmas coffe table and the McDonalds collection for you. My mother used to say "it takes all kinds"....But I really wish it wasn't so....they just piss me off.
College grad, no kids, no pets... that can't get into an apartment, as landlords are to stupid to rent to a classy good person; instead rent to pet owners, ratty people w/ w/multiple ratty children, drug dealers and whores.
The pandering quote “SemGroup and the Kivisto’s were strong community supporters” seems to be appearing less and less in related news stories. I suppose as more of the dirty laundry airs, the glaring fact is they gave to the community alright -- with stolen money. Wouldn’t we all like to be philanthropists with other people’s money? Wining and dining, getting the best seats in town, free meals, hugs from strangers, and slaps on the back wherever we appeared is heady stuff. Gracing the little people with our presence would be such an ego trip. But most of us would never consider such antics as pleasant. And if we did, we’d go to jail for the rest of our lives, be forced to give up everything we own, ever owned, or hoped to own, lose our children, and the list goes on. Billions of dollars have evaporated. That doesn’t count the lost wages of the employees who no longer have jobs. Stockowners, many of them local, will never recoup their losses. Exactly what amount did SemGroup and the Kivisto’s give to the community? Nothing.
I despise the self-checkout lines at Walmart. They NEVER work right. Self-checkout is supposed to be easy, more efficient, but NO, every time I scan an item I must bag the item. Fine, item bagged. Then why does it say I did not bag the item?! The item is in the bag, IT'S IN THE BAG DAMNIT, now why did the whole thing stop working until an employee comes over to "help"? The machine does this whole item-not-bagged-must-stop-working routine about every third item. DAMNIT! It makes me want to rip the monitor from the station & smash it while everyone watches in fear. I hate you self-checkout stations. I hate you & hope someone puts an unexpected item in your bagging area.
Adopted adults in OK are denied the civil right of obtaining their original birth certificate, which would provide them and their children vital genealogical, and medical histories. Six U.S. states have passed laws which restore this right to adult adoptees. The American Adoption Congress helped me navigate the red-tape of obtaining this important information and works to educate the public about life-long adoption issues.
People who can't figure out how to work the Wal-Mart self check out system piss me off. My 8 year old can work it. If you can't, get out of the line and go let a real person do it for you!
I HATE the repeated bad grammar I see everyday in this state.
1. Something that is not tight is LOOSE. You do not LOOSE your keys, you LOSE them. 2. It is not could OF, should OF, would OF, etc. It's called a contraction and it is short for COULD HAVE (could've), SHOULD HAVE (should've), WOULD HAVE (would've) etc.
