TODAY AT 2:30 P.M. CITY HALL 10TH FLOOR TMUA Tulsa Metropolitan Utility Authority final meeting with the Tulsa mayor and his appointed TMUA board members.

Mr.Bob Bowcock, water specialist and investigator associate of Erin Brochovich will presnt, inform and educate the TMUA on the extremely controversial and dangerous chloramine conversion which has been planned and now is facing implementation by the City of Tulsa and the TMUA board.

On Dec 12, 2011 KRMG did a story where a San Francisco "study" was the basis for TMUA Vice-Chairman, Rick Hudson and his decision to covert to chloramine. The study he refers to is no study at all on the safe and effective research on chloramine.

Rather,it was a 17 person phone interview conducted by laymen phone operators with no specific questions related directly to chloramine.Over 100 people wanted to participate but were not asked, and of those 100 people those with rashes were never seen by a doctor concerning this study.

That is a simple fact… accepted by USEPA, CDC and AWWA. They have the information… the big question everyone is struggling with is… now that they have the information what will they do with it? Drinking water regulations evolve… the regulation of DBPs has been an ongoing process since 1979. If Tulsa… armed with this new information chooses to add ammonia knowingly to their drinking water they do it with knowledge we didn’t have last year, three, five ten or twenty years ago… they do it with the full and complete factual knowledge that they will be harming people and causing property damage. If they can do that and sleep at night… God Bless them.

Today is extremely important in voicing your opposition to the use of ammonia in our drinking, bathing and everyday use water supply.

Remember,12% of the population will be affected right off the top, and Tulsa TMUA members know this.

WILL YOU OR SOMEONE YOU LOVE HAVE HEALTH AFFECTS?

WILL YOUR HOME PLUMBING BE COMPROMISED?

ARE YOU WILLING TO LEAVE A TOXIC FOOTPRINT FOR THE FUTURE OF TULSA, AND IT'S CHILDREN?

The EPA is looking hard at it's own descision to raise standards and by the types of TOXIC chemicals it deems "safe" and effective.

How can you call something safe, when NO studies, data or time has been put into a full scale report to evaluate the real side effects of chloramine?

Tulsa has to comply with EPA regulations, but a board of 5 has decided that chloramine is the way to do the job. There are safer alternatives and a better way to disinfect and that is the truth!

DECEMBER 14TH 2:30 P.M. the Tulsa Metropolitan Utility Authority WILL allow Mr.Bow Bowcock, water specialist, and water investigator to present his informative and compelling information which proves that Tulsa DOES NOT have to use chloramine in it's water supply to meet new EPA standards for secondary disinfection for 2012.

Granular activated carbon which is already in place can be soley used to meet and accomodate ALL current and future EPA standards for water regulation.

The Tulsa City Council asked the TMUA to listen, learn and allow Mr.Bob Bowcock to address the TMUA in October, 2011.
This Wednesday every Tulsan concerned and not supporting AMMONIA being added to our water supply is encouraged to come, listen and speak if you would like to this board on your support to NOT USE CHLORAMINE IN THE TULSA WATER SUPPLY.

The TMUA is allowing 30 minutes for this important issue and agenda item!

Re: Water Works
 12/12/2011 - 8:35am
This article is directly from U.T. published Nov.5,2008 Please read it below.

The article clearly states the city of Tulsa and their position to ELIMINATE using chemicals in the Tulsa Water Supply. Why, then would the City of Tulsa decide to add AMMONNIA to the water supply in 2012?
The answer is pretty simple, $$$.Certain TMUA board members will profit from the chloramine conversion. The City of Tulsa knows that off the top, in February 2012 12% of Tulsan's will have adverse health affects from the chloramine conversion that is 12% of Tulsa's POPULATION.

This includes (Jenks,Glenpool,Sand Springs,Broken Arrow,Bixby,Sperry,Skiatook,Owasso,Sperry,Sapulpa,Berryhill)and any other smaller water municipalities that get their water from Tulsa,by master meter or emergency type of water services.

So if in 2008, the city made steps to reduce the chemicals in the water system, why are we adding the ammonia in February 2012?Not only will some board members profit from selling their "chloramine resistant" products to the city, but plumbing, environmental, and health issues will be comprimised by at least 12% off the top.Skin, respiratory, epidemial and other symptoms will occur in some small children, elderly, immune system sufferers, athmatics, cancer survivors and patients, and anyone with cronic health problems.

IF YOU ARE STILL CONCERNED AND WOULD LIKE TO ADDRESS THE TMUA AND IT'S MAYORAL APPOINTED BOARD YOUR LAST OPPORTUNITY IS DECEMBER.14TH 2:30 P.M. AT CITY HALL.
BOB BOWCOCK,ASSOCIATE OF ERIN BROCHOVICH WILL BE THERE TO ADDRESS THE TMUA,ONCE AGAIN.ACTIVATED CARBON IS ALL THAT IS NECESSARY TO KEEP TULSA WATER UP TO EPA STANDARDS....
CHLORAMINE IS NOT NECESSARY TO BE DUMPED IN OUR WATER SUPPLY.

BY THE WAY,THE TMUA IS ONLY ALLOWING 30 MINUTES TO HEAR,ADDRESS AND HAVE CITIZENS SPEAK ON THIS ISSUE; HOW AWFULLY KIND OF THEM AND HOW GRATEFULL WE MUST ALL BE TO GET ANY TIME WHATSOEVER TO SPEAK UP ABOUT OUR HEALTH AND RIGHTS TO CLEAN AND UN CHEMICALLY ENHANCED CLEAR DRINKING WATER.

_________________________________ The article published in 2008.

   Fill My Cup

The City of Tulsa's AB Jewell Treatment Plant has made a change in the treatment used for drinking water. This change has reduced chemical usage, costs, and the City's overall environmental footprint.

An article about this change in the treatment process, written by City of Tulsa engineer Tyler Gipson, was published in the August 2008 AWWA publication of Opflow.

The article discussed a study conducted by the A.B. Jewell Water Treatment Plant staff from 2006-2007. The study found that the Plant could effectively maintain pH control by the addition of sodium hydroxide alone. This process change does not adversely affect water quality within the City's water pipes.

The elimination of this chemical has resulted in a reduction of 1.4 million pounds of treatment chemicals per year and a savings of over $75,000. In addition, the process change will save approximately $10,000 annually in electric costs.

The overall environmental footprint is also reduced by lowering soda ash mining and transportation from its source. Eliminating this amount of chemical is equal to 30 less chemical truck deliveries each, meaning less fuel used, less road time for vehicles, and less paperwork. Soda ash is a natural resource obtained by mining with diesel-powered equipment.

Re: Water Works
 11/16/2011 - 5:15pm
Today the TMUA (Tulsa Metropolitan Utility Authority) met to vote on a million dollar expense of which the Tulsa taxpayers will foot the bill. The cost is to inject "ammonia" into the good quality water that has served Tulsa for over half a century. The agenda produced all members except for Mr.Dewey Bartlett and Mr.Sevenoaks.

One would think that such an important decision would be relative to a mayor who had hand picked the TMUA.Also in attendance was Mr.Mautino and Mr.Bob Bowcock,Californina water specialist,AAWA member and water investigator collegue with Erin Brochovich.

The board voted to proceed, but to note that Mr.Bob Bowcock will come back to Tulsa December 14th for the scheduled TMUA meeting to educate, inform and explain why Tulsa and the water quality control numbers prove that without a reasonable doubt, that the Tulsa water quality and ability to meet EPA standards which will change in 2012 CAN BE DONE WITHOUT ADDING AMMONIA - CHLORAMINE to the water.
Mr.Bowcock toured both water treatment plants today and after seeing the plants, and looking over the numbers it is not only obvious but it is nothing more but greed that must be driving the TMUA to proceed with the chloramine conversion, scheduled for February 2012.

The vice chairman,R.L. Hudson is not only on the TMUA board, but develops and supplies "chloramine resistant" rubber products to businesses and consumers at a cost.

You can draw your own conclusions, but the push to use chloramine began when Hudson wass president of the TMUA in 2006.

Please mark your calendars and plan on attending the TMUA scheduled meeting on December 14th.Please refer to the TMUA meetings / agenda dates on the city of Tulsa webpage or better yet, call the TMUA and ask them exactly when, where and what time is the OPEN TO THE PUBLIC meeting scheduled for DECEMBER 14, 2011.

Tulsa water is good, clean and in no way, shape or form needs another chemical "ammonia: added to the water.Your health, home plumbing costs, rate increases, environment effects, killing of aquatic wildlife, and not to mention that if this conversion goes through it WILL NOT only affect Tulsa.People who live in Broken Arrow,Bixby,Jenks,Owasso,Sperry,Skiatook,Berryhill,Washington 3 and their city / town buys or uses Tulsa water even on an emergency basis will be drinking ammonia as well.

Do yourself and your family a favor - Tell Mr.Bartlett you do not want this chemical in your water, come to the meeting December 14th and speak out on public comment, and let the media know you do not want chloramine in your water.
Stopping the conversion is a lot easier than removing it from your water, like so many cities are finding out that have already converted and want to go back to using alternative ways to disinfect. The cost to use our GAC wehich is already in place is cheaper than this chloramine conversion by far!

Of course, there are a handful of Tulsans who will profit from the conversion as well as their companies.

To catch everyone up to speed. At the last city council meeting on October.27,2011 Mr.RL Hudson the vice chairman for the TMUA (Tulsa Metropilitan Utility Authority) and private owner / operator and supplier of "chloramine resistant "rubber parts and products" told the Tulsa City Council members that he and the TMUA would have the last say, respectfully on the chloramine conversion that will affect around 600,000 peoples water in Tulsa.

The Tulsa City Council Strongly Suggested, after voting to DELAY the implementation of chloramine until Mr.Bob Bowcock the water expert and college of Ms.Erin Brochovich could give an educational, informative workshop to "educate" the TMUA on the negative and adverse effects of using chloramine in the Tulsa water supply.

Mr.Huson could not guarantee (even as acting vice chairman)that the board would invite or extend an invitation to hear from Mr.Bowcock.The following day a follow up was intended to be sent to the council and Mr.Bowcock from the TMUA and it's board members which also include the mayor. That follow up has not been extended to the California water expert as of yet.

What does the mayor and the TMUA have to hide? Why not do what is right for the safety and health of Tulsa citizens as well as the Tulsa environment.

As with many important issues which effect many citizens it is a cost issue.

More to come on this important issue for Tulsa.

The CDC water connection October 28,2011

The fraudulent CDC study on lead in drinking water that Marc Edwards DEBUNKED in his Princeton lecture; "Imminent Endangerment, Lead Astray by the EPA?" This was the "study'" for which the CDC just "lost" the data that was supposedly used to claim that extremely high levels of lead in drinking water (300 ppb when the EPA'S limit is 15 ppb) posed NO health risk?

Remember the phony CDC "investigation" of the chloraminated water health complaints in Vermont, in which they did NOT explore the actual cause and effect relationship between chloramine and the symptoms people reported?
Apparently there has been a problem with the CDC for some time now.

CDC Director Arrested for Child Molestation and Bestiality

A high-ranking CDC official, who played a significant role in the 2009 H1N1 propaganda campaign, has been arrested and charged with two counts of child molestation and one count of bestiality
As an official in charge of CDC health recommendations for all American children, her actions raise troublesome questions about her level of concern for the health and well-being of children in general
Other recent stories raising questions about the ethics and integrity of the agency include documentation showing that the CDC has never obtained any input from toxicology experts to assess the health effects of water fluoridation, and the recent fraud indictment of Dr. Thorsen—hired by the CDC to debunk the link between thimerosal in vaccines and autism.

Dr. Kimberly Quinlan Lindsey, a top official with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has been arrested and charged with two counts of child molestation and one count of bestiality.

Dr. Lindsey, who joined the CDC in 1999, is currently the deputy director for the Laboratory Science Policy and Practice Program Office. She's second in command of the program office.

Prior to that role, she was the senior health scientist in the Office of Public Health Preparedness and Response, an office that oversees the allocation process for $1.5 billion in terrorism preparedness.

   According to CNN:

"Authorities also charged Lindsey's live-in boyfriend, Thomas Joseph Westerman, 42, with two counts of child molestation.

The two are accused of 'immoral and indecent' sexual acts involving a 6-year-old ...

The bestiality charge says Lindsey 'did unlawfully perform or submit to any sexual act with an animal.'"

Our city rates just went up and now incredible service wants to profit from a city imposed water change. Are you kidding me.....our rates just go up and now this company is implying that we purchase their filters at $300 a pop?

Unbelievable, the lengths the city and business will go to in this town,if in fact this service has been involved with the conversion process.

Filters reduce but will not remove chloramine 100%,lead and other nitrogen contaminents from the water that is converted to chloramine disinfection.

Not even to mention the damage in the pipes and rubber fittings and plumbing pieces.

The best solution is not to do this conversion, period.

Re: Water Works

Incredible Service is in the process of determining what the best point-of-use drinking water system is for Tulsa. We have been in close contact with the City regarding the timeline and parameters for chloramination and it looks like the process is being postponed until February. We are testing the effectiveness of multiple systems currently, and once we choose which is the best value we will begin installing them in Tulsa. We're hoping to keep the price under $300/installed. Please check the website

   www.incredibleservice.net

We only use filters that are NSF certified, and we do not recommend whole house systems except to treat very hard water. Reverse osmosis is an option, but it will not remove chloramine, in fact chloramine will damage RO membranes unless it is removed prior to the membrane.

I've lived in Dallas for 51 years and recently moved to Tulsa this past summer. In the beginning, the water was fine, then I noticed a change in the taste and smell. My son and I have been ill ever since. If you are going to use cities like Dallas as an example of how well it works, then get the chloramine level correct! I'm switching to bottled water until I am confident the levels are right.

Do your homework, City Officials. Chloramine has caused respiratory, skin and/or digestive symptoms in hundreds of people (that our citizen group knows of) in my Vermont water district, as well as in numerous other areas around the country and in Europe, Canada, and Australia.

How many more people in my water district are there who have the misfortune of NOT having made the "chloramine connection" with their symptoms, who, as a result, are not able to GET BETTER like those of us who have?

So many chloramine sufferers who haven't made the "chloramine connection" go to the doctor over and over. They are prescribed steroid inhalers, skin cream, IBS treatment, etc., depending on the symptoms, whose symptoms return when they stop taking their medications- or worse, don't get any relief from the medications- because they are exposing themselves over and over on a daily basis to the culprit, chloramine.

I was one of the lucky ones. I figured it out. I'm fine as long as I don't touch my tap water or create steam with it in my home. Otherwise I have stinging bloodshot eyes, a pain in my chest (which I assume comes from breathing chloraminated steam and aerosols in my shower, steam over the stove, or from the dishwasher/washing machines), a skin rash, and stomach cramping.

Go to youtube and type Chloramine In Vermont into the search bar to see videos of Vermonters testifying to EPA and CDC officials about their respiratory, skin and/or digestive symptoms.

Then go to Google and search for Citizens Concerned About Chloramine to learn about the suffering caused by chloramine exposure in peoples' tap water that is going on in CA.

This is the real deal, folks.

The problem is there are no NSF certified filters out there that remove chloramine from the water.
At best you need a reverse osmosis entire home plus carbon filter in addition system to reduce the amount of chloramine.
There is not a filter on the market that will remove chloramine from your home or business entirely.

I wish it was that easy. All the major on sink filters will not filter this chemical or it's by products which are highly more toxic than chlorine by products.

If the city would just use the best alternative and try a filtering system instead of this chloramine everyone would have clean and safe water. It may not be the cheapest way to go but it would be safer than adding ammonia to our water.

Filter your water! One can buy either Point of Use filters or whole house filters which will reduce all contaminants. Filters are also available which fit on a shower head so you don't have to wash in chlorinated water.

While using our chloraminated water I got terrible skin rashes, which neither my allergist nor my dermatologist could diagnose the causes of. Only after I totally stopped using our tap wate did the rashes disappear. Sometimes I feel like I live in a third world country, but at least in such locations, one can bathe! Please Google chloramine and look for the Citizens Concerned about Chloramine site for more information

If you have concern / questions about this type of conversion this Princeton lecture will answer any of them.
Marc Edwards gives this informative lecture on chloramine and the lead that did affect many people in Washington DC after their conversion.

The conversion is easy to do,the maintaining and the results of such a conversion are not so easy to resolve, trace back to the utility companies,a lot of cases get lost in not reporting, not connecting the dots, not going to clinincs & hospitals to see there are increased cases being seen due to this flammatory chemical being added to the water supply.

This story is totally innacurate and is downplaying the concern for converting to chloramine. There have been numerous contacts to Erin Brochovich and many contacts to the CCAC website.

There are hundreds of cases being reported to The Citizens Concerned About Chloramine website.Epidermal,respiratory,epidemiological,digestive,transplant,dialysis,etc.

If chloramine is so entirely safe and the city has had a year to implement conversion then why push the start date back?Tulsas water is undercompliance and is good water.

Only two times of the year there are a couple of outlying areas at the AB Jewell plant that "may" not be in compliance.

This needs to be pushed back to find an alternative to putting ammonia in Tulsa's water supply.

There are numerous alternatives that are better for our water disinfection.

Chloramine (ammonia) is just the Cheapest way to do it.
