I agree with Simple Skeptic. Bill Christiansen has been talking about looking at the structure and type of policing that needs to be done to deal with our problems. My gravest concern is that our crime statistics are understated because people 1) can't get through on 9-1-1 calls and 2) don't believe police will follow up on police reports. We have transnational gangs pushing into our neighborhoods in hotspots and hiding in the suburbs when they are on the lamb, and Bartlett wants to license properties. Likewise, Kathy "No Access" Taylor, had abhorrent relations with neighborhoods. Christiansen is the only one I know of who is concerned about TPD's relationship with federal and state law enforcement. TPD has typically been out of sync with other law enforcement agencies. It is frustrating and sometimes dangerous. I am relieved that Christiansen is listening. I hope he gets elected. We need him.

Sounds like the mayor and deputy chief are most concerned with their lack of "leverage" with out of town apartment owners. The truth comes out... Shockingly, govt. authorities want more power. Mr. Bartlett clearly has an agenda and Mr. Larson wants to blame crime on something other than the criminals...not very becoming of an officer of the law.
