Yep. Bates has been WRONG before. Wrong to support Big Bad Bill MisFortune, after four years of telling EVERYONE how bad Bill was. WRONG for wussing out on twhirld.
Bates has lost his street creds.
Go git 'em, Gwin! Beat 'em in da belly. Kick 'em in da smelly!
Does it seem hypocritical to ANYONE that we drive gas-guzzling, global-warming, people-killing monstrosities of glass, metal, and rubber on four-wheels to the park for a walk, to go to the gym for spinning class, and to drop off a few scraps of plastics, paper, and glass at the recycling center?
Thanks for the Par-Taaaaay last night! It was a blast meeting up with NO-sack! Haha. Somewhere beteween dumpster diving and the NEXT great MAJOR cable TV star is a movie we can all bank on.
But, I'm soooo out of ideas on how to nab The Most Annoying Person Award? Help me out, people.
Greetings from PDX. http://bikeportland.org/2008/06/18/2100-miles-for-pedalpalooza/

Bikes moved 95% of the cargo and catering for Pedalpalooza. http://bikeportland.org/2008/06/26/pedalpalooza-menu-for-friday-627/

Here in PDX, the solutions are as plentiful as the bike traffic jams. I would be willing to do volunteer wrench. I am not LCI, but, I know a LOT of stuff.
As for the space, the PDX solution would be to squat an abandoned field. Park a bunch of crunked-out vans in an artistic manner. Think Stonehenge. Get Rainbow Girl and Company to paint said vans. Hand out donated free java and vegan donuts to code enforcement and cops for a week. Problem SOLVED.
P.P.P.S. Hey, George Kaiser Family Foundation, Ken Levit, et al, since you guys gave us a wider bike path on the River, suppose you guys chip in for the Randi Miller Arkansas River Aerial Tramway too? Hopefully, she's NOT afraid of HEIGHTS. Naaaaaaaah. Forget it.
P.S.S. "Bynum said he supported the river tax, not because it would attract new businesses to the area, but because it would have attracted young professionals to Tulsa, providing a workforce for existing businesses to expand, which he pointed to as the single greatest need to help Tulsa businesses grow."
Lovely. Higher taxes = more yP's = business growth. Sounds to me like...oh, GAWD...I'm NOT even going THERE. RINO! Just SHOOT me NOW, people.
Well, good grief, UTW, if you guys had tried to contact me, I would have responded. Hey, wait just a doggone cotton-pickin' minute, didn't some UTW chick call me just the other day to pass a message from some Stockholm, Sweden TV producer looking for the Make Tulsa WEIRD story?!
Why didn't you guys do a questionnaire like all the other special interest mafia groups coming out of the woodworks? I've answered q-naires from t-whirld, BacktheBadge.com, League of Women Voters, PreserveMidtown.com, and of course, my favorite, TulsaNow.net.
To clarify, I am NOT pitching ANY proposals to impose a gas tax, raise property taxes, or increase sales tax to pay for streets. Those were included as part of a readers' poll, Top Ten Ways to Pay for Streets.
Personally, it's a toss up between divesting Tulsa Transit and DEREGULATING transit, or eBaying confiscated cars involved in traffic violations. So, I haven't voted in the poll yet.
I first met Mr. Lowry in 2002, when he ran for CD1 against Jack. I was mildly surprised he recently moved into my neighborhood. I think he's a jolly fellow. :-O
Yes, the Top Ten No Brainers of the Year poll is still a work in progress. I don't usually run into a whole lot of bona fide no brainers in this town. I usually just make them up or plagarize from someone else.
Hey, Bynum, why is rush hour called rush hour? EVERYBODY is on a BIG rush because they can't drive faster than 25 mph on the Broken Arrow EXPRESSWAY from 4:33 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.
The really scary part of biking the BA? Half my brain is on auto-pilot. Once you get the feel of tailwind caused by several tons of steel, plastic, and rubber rolling by at 65, it's really nothing more "dangerous" than breathing in the fumes caused by your SUV. :-P
My Top Three Priorities for CD9: 1) Safe Streets for kids. 2) Preserve Mid-town 3) Environmentally sustainable and sensitive River Development.
My Top Three Ways to Pay for Streets without really Trying: 1) 86 off-street parking requirements in the zoning code imposed on developers. 2) Allow market forces to determine parking policies. Charge fair market prices for all parking spots, both curb and off-street. 3) Use parking revenues to pay for street improvements and repairs.
Marty forgot to include shaking down parking fees from motorists. Imagine the Streets Fund getting a quarter per hour from EVERY occupied parking spot within City limits. See Donald Shoup's The High Cost of Free Parking.
Please allow 4-6 weeks for processing. No refunds are issued. Back issues are available for $10/copy.

1) LESS than 10% of the population voted this kid into office.
2) The job pays ZIP.
3) How's the kid paying his expenses for food, clothing, and shelter?
The cops, firefighters, and city employees must have pegged the kid for Claudius, NOT Julius. Muskogee, you guys really have a great sense of HUMOR!
