Bell's got the shaft by Randi Miller. I would donate my time to help rebuild Zingo. Mr. Bell hired high school drop-outs to build the famous roller coaster back in the summer of '68 if meory serves. Every kid went back and graduated after finding out what life would be like without that high school diploma. The Bell family has touched so many live's. I wish them the very best of luck.
Before I would let anybody touch me I would want to see a state license. Moreover, If I'm paying for an honest massage a massage is exactly what I expect. Anything less and I won't go back. Anything more and I'm calling the cops!
When he does that again, the eyewitness should follow him in her or his car and stay on the phone with 911 until the cops catch up to him. I would laugh my ass off if I could follow him until he ran out of gas.
I loved that magical 4th Street Coney Island. I spent many Saturday lunchtimes there eating my fill of Coneys when I was a teenager, right after a good workout at the Downtown YMCA. Now at 60, I look forward to returning to that wonderful place in time for at least five of those tastelful Tulsa treasures and if nothing else, reclaiming the memory of my youth. My heartfelt thanks to Jim Economou. GO TULSA!
Phillips's comment about "anybody foolish enough to open carry" and his statement about "expecting the police to look warily upon those who do open carry" is not only inflammatory it's "foolish". I have been "conceal and carry" since 2009. I have been open carry on my own commercial property for those years and not once have I been bothered by law enforcement. The background check alone weeds out the criminals. Not everybody is a John Hinkley in waiting and I seriously doubt the one's who are don't have permits. I open carried all over New Mexico and Arizona and not one cop approached me. It isn't even legal for a cop to harrass you without just cause. If I am approached for exercising my right to open carry then the cop in question will be in front of a State Court Judge to show cause. It will only take one of those instances for them to back off. Governor Fallin stated that "with the signing of this Bill we insure that all law abiding Oklahoman's can exercise their Constitutional Right to bear arms. It also insures that we have a standing militia." Now I have paraphrased her comments but those were her words and she said them for a very valid reason. Law enforcement should not look at us like we're the criminals. They should look at us as a citizens who are able and willing to defend ourselves under any circumstances. A gun in the hand is worth two cops on the way.
When I was a kid, we settled things after school or in some cases during school. Times were different in the 50's & 60's. I only got bullied once by the same bully. Even if I lost the fight, they left me alone after that because they knew I would fight. If nothing else they would get their shirt ripped to pieces or they would lose the fight. That happened more often than not. I didn't pick'em, I finished'em. I never picked on anybody. Bullies are usually very afraid from the gitgo.
I could see a couple of four or five story parking garages near the immediate area for people to park in and while I'm at it.....why not make "Cherry Street" and the Blue Dome a "no vehicle zone" like they do in the French Quarter? Not all the time but on specific days and during certain hours. Tulsans don't mind walking for a good time. Tell ya the truth, I'd rather take a cab and not worry about it.
