Entertainment World. The Tulsa PAC Ticket Office received the International Ticketing Association's 2013 award for "Outstanding Box Office." Terri McGilbra, manager of the ticket office, accepted the award in Florida on Jan. 30.
The award is all the more prestigious given the global reach of the International Ticketing Association, which represents box offices for public venues in some 20 countries.
"We are honored to accept this award from the ticketing industry's leading organization," PAC Director John Scott said in a release. "Our dynamic box office serves ticket-buyers who purchase tickets through our regional ticketing company, Myticketoffice.com, at 13 venues in six cities and two states."
Myticketoffice.com has certainly come into its own since its foundation in 2005. According to the Tulsa PAC, it processed $19 million in total ticket sales during the City of Tulsa's fiscal year 2012.
"Other regional PACs run their ticket sales through myticketoffice.com and the Tulsa PAC gets a fee for each sale," PAC marketing director Nancy Hermann told UTW last year. This award just provides further evidence, as Hermann put it last year, "Tulsa is an arts town."
