What is Your Major Malfunction? There are people who get tired and sweaty on purpose for the sake of exercise. Then there are those who go the extra mile and hit Boot Camp with the Y (which seems to me should, in that case, be called "Booty Camp," but that's what an English degree will get you). Hit the Guthrie Green for a one-hour class that you'll leave having had a full-body workout. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-6:30pm.
Maybe there's more to life than being really, really, really, ridiculously good-looking.
Maybe not. Find out for yourself as Philbrook Films on the Lawn 2013 presents Zoolander for your viewing pleasure, and Lone Wolf Bahn Mi will be on hand for your empty belly. Good laughs, kim chi fries to die for, and a nice evening out. 7:30pm; $7.
I Come Here to Tell You That These Beach Bums is Bums. While no one is showing Beach Blanket Bingo this week, the Tulsa SPCA is celebrating its 100th anniversary with its Summer Splash Bingo Bash, a night of bingo, silent auctions, and adult beverages from 6-9:30pm at the Campbell Hotel. Frankie and Annette would like it if you went.
You're Gonna Need a Bigger Boat. Whether you need a shark-hunting skiff, a placid pontoon boat, or anything in between you'll want to hit the Green Country RV and Boat Show all weekend at Expo Square. Shop, compare, buy, or just daydream in this smorgasbord of, well, boats and RVs.
COURTESY STARLIGHT CONCERTS
Do or Do Not. There Is No Try. Head to 306 Phoenix House for Kundalini Yoga with Celeste. No word on whether she speaks with a weird syntax, but it'd be a lot cooler if she did. Train your mind and body every Monday this month from 6:30-7:45.
Wait a Minute, Wait a Minute. You Ain't Heard Nothin' Yet! The River West Festival Park gigs are starting to wind down for the summer. That's all the more reason to catch the Starlight Jazz Orchestra tonight at 8pm for a free concert featuring the West Coast jazz of the Terry Gibbs Dream Band. Don't know who Gibbs is? You'll still hear great music from the best of Tulsa's musical elite.
It's My Voice, Isn't It? You Hate My Voice. Every Wednesday this summer, Los Cabos on the Riverwalk offers Live Band Karaoke with FuZed. What's karaoke without a twist? While the Renegade offers the hysterically funny Bubbles Dewdrop as its Thursday night host, Los Cabos adds the live band. And since FuZed is a pretty great band, even the non-musician-iest among us can enjoy the thrill of fronting a band. Even if for just a song or two.
When I'm Finished! Kaylee Huerta shows pieces from her fascinating A Figure and Chair series, in which she paints, shockingly enough, a figure and chair in all manner of poses. And the figure's nude, so if you need a little titillation on your Thursday night, you can get it at the TAC Gallery from 6-9pm.
