Downtown Dimwits
Dear Editor:
I work and live in downtown Tulsa, and I do appreciate all of the people
who journey down here to eat, drink, and be merry. My only complaint is
that they often try to kill me by their horrible driving. For example,
last Friday night, I counted four cars going northbound on Cincinnati.
For those playing the home game, downtown Cincinnati Ave goes southbound
only. Please pay attention to the signs, because your playground is
literally my back yard.
Thanks,
Amber
Pay Up
Dear Editor:
At the moment, gas prices are bringing me down. I am a single hard working mother who has 2 teenage kids who are driving. I feel that the prices are so out of whack and the government is lining the pockets of the rich with these prices.
I have had to choose now which events for my children to go to. Whether to buy canned food rather than fresh food because now not only do the gas prices affect our driving habits but they are affecting the type of food I can put on my table.
Another stimulus payment would be great! Why not go back to the old days when we helped all the other countries with their debt and war time. Why not go and ask them for the money they owe us now! Since now even our dollar is not worth what it used to BE!
These foreigners are now coming to our country because they can buy more here! What is wrong with that picture!
Help! Do I have to get married just so I can have a second income to pay for food AND gas? How ridiculous would that be! I get no public assistance! I work! I pay taxes! Or better yet why not have those illegal immigrants pay taxes and keep us from having to pay them to be here with our hard earned tax $!

Dear Editor:
[The Swimsuit Issue] is so stupid! I hate Urban Tulsa weekly even more so now! You suck.

Applause Please
Dear Editor:
Growing up in Aurora and having a father who also taught English at East Aurora, I attended many exciting Friday night basketball games in my youth (late 70's, 80's) and experienced first-hand Tom's father, Coach Kivisto, exorbitant passion for coaching the game of basketball.
Many times the only way I could get into the game was when my father was working them. Tickets were near impossible to get due to Coach Kivisto and his team's popularity. As Tom said, he wasn't just any coach.
Recently moving to Tulsa from the Chicago area, I find it to be a beautiful and growing city.
Also, praise to Tom and others that have taken the time and resources to reach out into the community to help those less fortunate.
Thanks for a great article!

Waste Management
Dear Editor:
My fiance and I just graduated TCC last Friday and I can tell you first hand that they have ENOUGH money. I've spent plenty of time at all of the TCC campuses except for TCC West, and they're VERY nice already. And they're full of unused computers. That's a theme with TCC. They'll try to set up a new public computer area, and then just not finish it and leave the computers there. (See the Northeast campuses testing center).
It's ridiculous.
Here in a bout four years my fiance and I will be buying a house and we won't be up to paying a premium on our property taxes just so some spoiled high schoolers (and if you've ever met the "Tulsa Achieves" students you'd know what I'm talking about) who don't appreciate that they didn't have to take out loans for their educations like I did can go to classes.
