Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Cosi, 4929 E. 71 St., 794-1600

Yes, Cosi isn't just for lunch. Swing by for coffee, a muffin or a hot breakfast sandwich like the Ham & Swiss Baked Omelet Sandwich. Cosi has baked goods galore in the morning, including several kinds of bagels in flavors like Cranberry Orange and Asiago Cheese. Scones are also offered along with other healthy options like yogurt parfaits and fruit salad. Of course, there's plenty of caffeine to be had as well. Espresso drinks like lattes and cappuccinos come in both hot and blended iced forms. Try a hot Mint Mocha or a Chai Latte. Summer have you wanting fresh fruit? Smoothies come in flavors like Blueberry Pomegranate or Citrus Passion Fruit.

Felini's Cookies & Deli, 3533 S. Harvard, 742-3638

With its famous cookies, made-to-order sandwiches and cozy atmosphere, Felini's is a great choice for lunch. Each day different sandwich fillings are featured, such as a delicious dill-laden egg salad. Assemble your own green salad at the salad bar or try one of Felini's fresh-daily composed salads. Lunch here is basic, but satisfyingly filling. And don't forget the most important part of your meal--one or two (or five or six) fresh-baked cookies, with varieties ranging from simple sugar to rich chocolate with walnuts. If you're in a hurry, get your lunch to go in a brown paper sack. Grab a refreshing glass of Felini's fresh-brewed iced tea garnished with orange slices while you wait for your food.

MON-THURS 7AM-3:30PM

FRI-SAT 7AM-3PM

Kolam Innovative Indian Cuisine, 4844 S. Memorial Dr., 270-1445

In the mood for something different? Kolam will satisfy your craving for spice and sizzle. Start with a Vegetable Samosa or a Pakora, and then move to one of Kolam's popular entrees like Chicken Tikka Masala. Or try the Kerala Fish Curry, a boneless fish fillet cooked in tamarind, coconut milk and curry leaves. Kolam has a generous vegetarian menu including favorites like Aloo Gobi, a mixture of cauliflower and potatoes cooked in a saffron cream sauce. Pair your meal with one of several Tandoor breads, such as Kolam's signature Naan, which is stuffed with fruit and nuts. Enjoy Chai or a Mango Lassi with your meal and top it all off with a dessert like Gulab Jamun or Mango Custard.
