Maybe OU should cancel the remainder of the season. If you can't win a BCS title then why play the games in Norman, right?
It was laughable listening to Sooner fans spew venom after they came up short against Miami. Losing to a resurgent University of Miami squad in South Florida by one point is honorable.
Check your expectations people. The Sooners remain undefeated in the Big 12. Stoops touts his yearly goal as winning the Big 12 Championship. Here is his chance to fulfill his dream.
Bradford may or may not return to action against Baylor this week. At this point, he should sit out the rest of the year. Heal up and get yourself ready for the NFL draft you should have entered last year. The Stache, Landry Jones, is not the problem. He will need the reps before heading south in two weeks for the Texas two-step.
By the way, TU played this week. They won. Not sure if you were aware. When the team is not featured on television, it makes for tough coverage.
This coming Wednesday the Golden Hurricane can erase the bitter defeat suffered at the hands of OU. Ranked no lower than sixth in the nation, Boise State comes to T-Town on Wed., Oct. 14.
The special Wednesday night contest will draw attention from multiple media outlets. Can TU rise to the challenge and make a game of it? Will TU wilt under the pressure of facing another top-ranked team?
Expect a huge game from Captain 'Cane, aka the secret weapon. The team is now undefeated with 'Cane in the fold.
The game will be televised on ESPN with kickoff scheduled for 7pm.

The local sports scene is on full tilt with the news coming out of Jenks. The illegal recruiting flags are being tossed in the direction of Coach Allen Trimble and his coaching staff.
I have no knowledge and quite honestly could care less what verdict is rendered. I do know that since I moved to this city 14 years ago talk of impropriety with regards to recruiting in the high school ranks was common.
Before other Green Country schools snicker at the mess in South Tulsa, they might want to check their closets first.
Finally, Coach Allen Trimble was named offensive line coach for Team USA. A contrived high school game titled "Team USA vs. The World" takes place in January 2010.
No confirmation on the rumors Coach Trimble shipped a fake birth certificate to a 310-pound lineman of Nigerian decent.
Football: it's serious business!
Speaking of serious business. The daily paper runs a Picker column. I'm sure you are familiar with the caricature in the red cap. Last week, I narrowed down the possible writer to being either a man or woman.
This week I'll take it one step further. He or she is old. Not like your parents' age but more like your grandparents' age.
Play Ball, or Not?
Is there a more annoying practice in 2009 than a door-to-door salesman? Seriously, why would I make a rash decision to have my carpet cleaned because you show up at my house with a vacuum? If my house was infested with bugs, I'll call you. Also, I don't care if my neighbor, whose name you just learned from ringing their doorbell, signs up or not.
But I have to give them credit in one area. At least they are trying to earn a buck. Another area I'll credit them is they offer a viable service.
If they offer to clean your carpet, they have a cleaning solution. The bug person typically carries spray with him or her.
Then we have the WNBA. The potential WNBA franchise is selling tickets, seeking sponsors and naming a head coach.
Tulsa, we have a problem. No actual team.
Perhaps this is the modus operandi for all potential WNBA locations. If so, it seems silly, does it not?
Count me among the many T-Towners excited for the possibility of Nolan Richardson calling the BOK Center his home. I'm just not sure if the WNBA is the right fit for Richardson, Tulsa or the WNBA.
However, let's throw a little sunshine the WNBA's way. According to the WNBA, the league is on the rise.
Game 1 of the WNBA finals earned a .43 rating on ESPN2. This was up 39 percent from last year's game 1. This represents half-a-million viewers.
The numbers are solid according to the league. Let's compare to make the digits more palpable.
Last year's GMAC Bowl featured the University of Tulsa defeating Ball State. The ratings were 2.2. As much as we would love to thank TU versus Ball State as must see football, it was a rather lowly bowl. It quadrupled the WNBA final's game.
It might not be a fair comparison, but it illustrates the point. By the way, can you tell me who is playing in the WNBA Finals this year? Name the teams. Name a player. Name a city? Anyone? Somebody? Sports fans?
If we are to believe the WNBA is making traction across the nation, then why did it take 12 years? How come teams in Houston, Portland, Miami and others no longer exist?
To further illustrate the somber situation, Phoenix hosted Indiana in the Finals. The NBA's Phoenix Suns general manager Steve Kerr purchased 7,000 tickets in the upper level to give away for game 1. The listed attendance for game 1 registered 11,617.
If you have ever been to a sporting event, you realize organizations and the league inflate the attendance numbers. Did the WNBA finals game, in which 7,000 tickets were there for the taking, even draw 7,000 fans?
Visit wnbatulsa.com for more information. You can also purchase season tickets... for the... you see... if we get a team... then the seats you buy are good. Make sense?
Next week, we'll chat OU and Texas but also a topic never before discussed in the history of Tulsa sports.
