Tribal Tales. See A Christmas Carol like you've never seen it before-through the eyes of a Native American. A Song of Winter puts comedy and culture together to put a spin on this timeless holiday classic at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, 110 E. 2nd St. Ebenezer Screech Owl and others interpret the Christmas season complete with Christmas carols in Native American languages. The play is presented by the American Indian Theatre Company and features a cast of Oklahoma Native Americans who share tales of ancestors, traditions and songs. Monkeying Around. Always wondering who plays the teasers or other tunes when you're attending a show at Nightingale Theater, 1416 E. 4th St.? Do you know who or what The Calamities are? Well, if you're interested in finding the answers to these questions, you should attend Syrup Monkey Music at 8pm. To give you a bit of a hint to one of the answers, the house band of the Nightingale Theater performs monologues, confessions and original music to create an entertaining experience for audience members. Jingles All the Way. With Christmas quickly approaching and activities and events winding down, so does A Christmas Carol. The holiday tale wraps up on Dec. 23, so now's the time to get to the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, 110 E. 2nd St. The American Theatre Company presents the annual season story, written by playwright Charles Dickens, about Ebenezer Scrooge being haunted and changed by Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present and the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come on Christmas Eve. That might give you a few jitters in a few days. The show for today starts at 2pm, while the remaining shows start at 7:30pm. Tickets range between $24 and $30. Alley-Oop. Head down the Turnpike to Oklahoma City for the Sonic All-College Classic at the Ford Center, 100 W. Reno Avenue in Oklahoma City. Each state school has the opportunity to showcase their skills at one of the world's oldest basketball tournaments. The University of Oklahoma takes on the University of Texas-El Paso at 5:30pm, while the Cowboys try to drive past the LaSalle Explorers at 7:30pm. If you're a little short on traveling for the day, check out the games on TV on ESPN2. Tickets are already on sale for $12, $22, $32, $42, $57 and $67, and the tickets are good for both games. Dive In. Santa Claus takes a different route by ditching the reindeer and the elves and jumping in with the fish. Rather, Scuba Santa has hopped into the Caribbean Sea at the Oklahoma Aquarium, 300 Aquarium Drive in Jenks. At 3:15 today till Dec. 24, Santa swims and gives gifts to the fishes, but he also poses for pictures with boys and girls. So, swim over and see what's happening. Don't Shoot. If you enjoy the Christmas tale of a boy and his BB gun dreams, then you'll be happy to know that A Christmas Story is playing at Circle Cinema, 12 S. Lewis. Ralphie has his eyes set on a Red Rider BB gun as the perfect Christmas gift. The problem? His parents, teacher and even good old Saint Nick disagree that he should have it. Straight to Print. Jump into action-print action at Philbrook Museum, 2727 South Rockford Road. As a part of the Third Thursday series, Philbrook presents Print Action: Y2K to Today. Bring a tote or a T-shirt, as printmakers Kelly Foshee, Michelle Martin, Darshan Phillips and Denny Schmickle show their silk-screen designs representing the past year as well as the past decade. After peeking at their designs, you have the opportunity to pick your favorite and layer it to make it your own on the tote or shirt. Plus, a DJ plays for your audible senses, while you work on the visual. Session starts at 5:30pm, and its free with museum admission. General admission is $7.50 or $5.50 for seniors and students.
