Bite of the Apple. Although the "Bookworks II: Exploring the Book as Art" exhibit might leave you speechless, just take a closer look at these art pieces and you will have plenty of words to choose from to express what you see. This exhibit at Philbrook Museum of Art, 2727 S. Rockford Road, showcases books that have been altered into artwork. The bindings of these books are bent and broken, not from years of being read, but from being molded into 3D sculptures. "Bookworks II" runs through July 4. Are You Ready? Hank Williams Jr. teams up with Jamey Johnson, the Grascals and Eric Church to bring "The Rowdy Friends" tour to the BOK Center, 200 S. Denver, tonight. Williams is most recognizable from his days of hollering, "Are You Ready for Some Football?" on ABC's Monday Night Football games. He's also most well-known, though, for reflecting struggles of the nation, people and the human spirit. At any rate, the country artist, who's the first to win an Emmy, looks to bring down the house during tonight's show. Tickets range between $27 and $127. Revving Up. Hey, easy riders, start your engines and ride over to the Seventh Annual Handlebars and Hot Rods Show and Poker Run put on by Cancer Sucks Inc. The event will rev up at 3pm at the SpiritBank Event Center, 10441 S. Regal Blvd. and will include live music, a chili cook-off, a poker run and a chance to check out hot rods and motorcycles on Friday and Saturday. Admission is a $10 donation for the general public, or $25 to participate in the Poker Run or to enter a vehicle in the show. Just at Dusk. Not quite ready for the weekend to be over? Take a trip to the historic Circle Cinema, 12 S. Lewis Ave., to catch the 1950s classic Sunset Boulevard. Undiscovered screenwriter Joe Gillis winds up with a flat tire near the falling-to-pieces mansion of former silent-screen star, Norma Desmond. Together, they decide to write a screenplay for her comeback, which leads to love, jealousy and tragedy. The showing of this film is in conjunction with Lights! Camera! Fashion!: The Film Costumes of Edith Head, an exhibit at the Price Tower Arts Center in Bartlesville highlighting the famed Hollywood costume designer who created pieces for Sunset Boulevard and other classic films. Just Kickin' It. Don't miss Rapper Talib Kweli -- in collaboration with Hi-Tek -- performing at the Cain's Ballroom, 423 N. Main St. The duo's trip to T-town is just in time for fans to hear the newest hits from their new album, Reflection Eternal, set to be released in May. The performance will kick off with openers U-N-I and HipHopotamus. Kweli is most well known for making up half of Black Star with rapper Mos Def and for his hit "Get By." The concert begins at 8pm. The Dramatic Dozen. A visit to the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, 110 E. Second St., does not typically include admission into a boxing ring, but with the showing of the dramatic 12 Angry Men, spectators can expect the struggles on stage to come to blows in this 1950s play. Robert Walters directs this play about 12 jurors strained over their initial decision because of one juror who creates doubt among the men. The brawl begins at 8pm. Tickets start at $24. Around the Mayfest Pole. Oh, May -- the time when the flowers bloom, the smell of spring is in the air and the sound of funk, jazz, blues and rock music can be heard streaming down the streets of Tulsa. No, the birds are not getting more diverse with their tunes -- it's finally time for the 38th annual Tulsa International Mayfest! This event, set in downtown Tulsa on Main Street between Third and Sixth Streets, boasts the best in arts and entertainment. There will be indoor and outdoor galleries, more than 75 live performances, and even a KidZone with a hands-on art activity. Mayfest kicks off at 11am and runs through Sunday until 6pm.
