Chances are if you’re out on the town late at night, then you’re
already pretty close to Brookside and even closer to Jamaica. Our
food reviewer recommends the Lil’ Jerk, a half chicken marinated
in spicy jerk seasoning and fire-grilled topped with special
hibiscus sauce. Don’t forget to try the island-inspired rum bar.

Frank's Café

5451 S. Mingo Rd., 665-6760

Delicious home cooked breakfasts and lunches are on the menu at this simple café with friendly service and good prices. Breakfast starts at 6am and includes hot cakes, omelets and other traditional breakfasts served with a choice of hash browns or grits, biscuits and gravy or toast. Try one of the tastiest cinnamon rolls in town, too.

MON-SAT 6AM-2PM

Jim's Coney Island

1923 S. Harvard Ave., 744-9018

Jim's Coney Island is one of Tulsa's little secrets for Greek food. Try the famous gyro. The grilled pita is filled with lettuce and tomato and then topped with the juicy gyro meat and garlic olive oil. Another customer favorite on the menu is the spinach pie. And, of course, if you aren't in the mood for Greek, Jim's got a coney for ya.

MON-SAT 11AM-8:30PM

Hurricane Hut

440 S. Gary, Allen Chapman Activity Center, 631-3146

Located on the TU campus, this place is pretty swanky for a hut. Nine televisions nestled among TU sports memorabilia grace the walls of this establishment. Order everything from potato skins to spicy hot wings, while quaffing your favorite beverage at the granite bar, which is in the shape of a football.

MON-SUN 11AM-11PM

Hibiscus Caribbean Bar and Grill

3316 S. Peoria Ave., 749-4700

Chances are if you're out on the town late at night, then you're already pretty close to Brookside and even closer to Jamaica. Try the Lil' Jerk, a half chicken marinated in spicy jerk seasoning and fire-grilled topped with special hibiscus sauce. Don't forget to try something from the island-inspired rum bar, featuring authentic rum from the Caribbean.

MON-THURS 11AM-3PM, 5PM-11PM; FRI-SAT 11AM-2AM; SUN 5PM-11PM.
