NEWS UPDATES

While Camille's Sidewalk Café recently unveiled a new summertime menu, one of the Tulsa-based chain's most visible locations has been closed for the past couple of weeks.

An official with Beautiful Brands Inc. -- the Tulsa-based restaurant development company that markets Camille's and 13 other concepts, including FreshBerry Frozen Yogurt Café, Rex's Chicken, Caz's Chowhouse, Café Ole and Dixie Cream Donut Co. -- did not respond to several telephone messages and e-mail requests seeking comment on the closure of the location at 1342 E. 15th St.

On June 18, a release was posted on the Beautiful Brands website announcing the new summertime menu for Camille's, which lists five Tulsa locations and three others around the state. The Cherry Street location is not listed on the Web site, and a recording on that store's phone line states the number is not in service.

The Beautiful Brands website describes Camille's as a concept that grew from a single store in Tulsa to one that now has more than 900 territories in development in 38 states and four continents.

   This is from tulsabuisness.com

The space at 1342 E. 15th St. that recently housed a Camille’s Sidewalk Cafe now sits vacant — but not for long.
David Rutkauskas, founder of Camille’s and Beautiful Brands International, which owns the franchise, said the franchise location on Cherry Street closed when BBI terminated its agreement with the franchisee last month.

“It wasn’t the right situation for Camille’s,” he said.

BBI still has the lease on the space and plans to move in another brand in the next 90 to 120 days. Though Rutkauskas wouldn’t specify which brand would be occupying the space, he did say it would be co-branded with a self-serve FreshBerry Frozen Yogurt Cafe. The mystery brand will be owned by a franchisee, while FreshBerry will be corporate-owned.
