Thursday 10.7

Strumming On. Bring your air guitars to strum along with one of the greatest guitarist of all time as Cain's Ballroom, 423 N. Main St., hosts the Richard Thompson Band. Lyrical wit, acoustic genius and electricity are bound to delight audiences as The Dream Attic Tour soars through Tulsa. With 40 albums worth of material to choose from, fans of folk rock can jam through the decades. So embrace those demons in your dancing shoes and don't miss this guitar masterpiece. Ticket prices range from $27-33 depending on advanced reserved or day of general purchase. The doors open at 7pm and the strumming and picking begin at 8pm. Friday 10.8

Black Belt Guitar. Perhaps limber, back flipping and illusive shouldn't be words to describe string-picking fingers, but nicknamed the 'acoustic ninja,' Trace Bundy bounds into Tulsa PAC's John H. Williams Theatre, 110 E. 2nd St. Harmonics and lyrics that mimic conversational banter compliment the natural acoustic talent that Bundy brings to his performances. Projecting the vibe that he plays music for the sake of the music alone, true lovers of tunes will only have themselves to blame (and hate) if they miss this show. So don't be late for curtain call at 7:30pm. Tickets are $24. Visit tulsapac.com for more information.

Saturday 10.9

Nacho Libre. There's a brawl brewing on the streets of Tulsa and some unique contenders are the ones stepping in to the ring. Elote Café and Catering will host downtown Tulsa's first Luchapalooza festival, which will feature live music, a kids' zone, and, of course, a number of masked wrestlers bouncing off the ropes and propelling themselves to pile drive their opponents. Yes, lucha libre matches, a form of professional wrestling popular in Mexico, will hit the streets of downtown beginning at 5pm and running until midnight with 12 fights including the season's title matches. Bands such as The Paul Benjamin Band, Hiphopotomus and Sam and the Stylees will also play throughout the festival. Admission to watch the battle is $5 and kids 12 and under can enter for free. Visit elotetulsa.com for more information.

Sunday 10.10

Ten, Ten, Ten. Only once in a lifetime will 10-10-10 be possible and on this historic day, it is only fitting to mark it with remembrance by attending an unforgettable performance. Carrie Underwood sets the BOK Center, 200 S. Denver, aflame with her Play On tour. Belting through hits Cowboy Casanova and Temporary Home, this Oklahoma native is sure to bring down the house and fellow Okies are coming out in droves to witness it. Opening the evening is Billy Currington and Sons of Sylvia. Doors start swinging at 6 pm and the microphones will be hot by 7:30pm. This once in a lifetime experience can be purchased for $35.50, $45.50 or $55.50. Visit bokcenter.com for more information.

Monday 10.11

Rumble, Tumble and Brew. Nothing goes better with Monday night football than $2 longnecks and an oversized flat screen. Come on down to The Boulder Grill, 17 W. 7th St., to throw back a brew and watch the game. Enjoy some pre-gaming action with half-price small plates, ranging from flatbread pizza to homemade tater tots from 4-6pm. Watch as experienced Brett Favre of the Minnesota Vikings squares off with newbie, Mark Sanchez of the New York Jets. Bring your friends, kick-off is at 7:30pm, but beer is not subject to watching the game.

Tuesday 10.12

Mother Nature vs. Beast. There is only one NBA preseason game taking place in Tulsa this year, so don't miss the Oklahoma City Thunder and Memphis Grizzlies showdown at the BOK center, 22 S. Denver. Sit courtside as Thunder's Kevin Durant tries to out shoot and out maneuver the Grizzlies' Rudy Gay. This start to the 2010-2011 NBA season will thrill all ages and sports fans, so be there for the 7pm tip at center court. Ticket prices start at $12. Visit bokcenter.com for more information.

Wednesday 10.13

Country Charm. It's unlikely that your Mr. fix-it, rugged, ol' boy neighbor can jam, strum, write and perform in front of Americana music loving fans, but Chris Knight might be the exception. Coming to Cain's Ballroom, 423 N. Main St., Knight brings his charm and guitar to win over Tulsans. Best known for writing hit songs for performers such as Montgomery Gentry and Blake Shelton, Knight is making a name for himself as a performer also. Audiences are invited to sway and move under the disco ball at 7 pm, the show starts at 8 pm. Opening the night is Oklahoma bred and rising band, South 40. Purchase your tickets for $18. Visit cainsballroom.com for more information.

Creepy Uncles. Everyone has that family member that they're a little afraid to claim but always love talking about and listening to. Well Larry Reeb, aka Uncle Lar, is at the Loony Bin, 6808 S. Memorial Dr., and wanting desperately to invite his new Tulsa family in to share his twisted wisdom. Quick wit and fearlessness drive Reeb through performances that cause audiences to roar in laughter and often heckle at one another.
