Thursday 11.25

Glow of the Season. Now that the turkey is demolished, the mashed potato bowl is licked clean and stuffing one more bite of apple pie down would result in a trip to the hospital, it's time to enjoy the beauty of the season and join other Tulsans for Lights On! at Utica Square, 21st & Utica. Bundle up, sip hot chocolate, sing along with holiday carols and join Santa Claus in counting down the lighting of Utica's 700,000 lights. This Tulsa tradition lights up at 6:30pm. Visit uticasquare.com for more information.

Friday 11.26

Shopping Sickness. Some may choose to campout in the freezing cold or begin lining up outside stores around 4 am. For all those insane individuals, there are a few things to remember on Black Friday. No need to actually commit murder or injury over this year's Zhu Zhu Pet. There is always Cyber Monday to capture any deals missed on Friday. Be sure to keep it local Tulsa. With this year's city budget crisis, shopping local as much as possible is the best way to support the local economy and keep retailers in business for next year's hellish, yet fun and exhilarating busiest shopping day of the year. Visit shoptulsa.org for more information.

Saturday 11.27

War on the Home Front. Whether you bleed orange or claim to be Sooner born and bred, pull all the rival family and friends together to watch a heated battle on the field, Bedlam 2010. Actually, the battle might be in your very own living room as yelling ensues between loving friends and family (love optional today). Orange and Crimson collide at Boone Pickens Stadium and kickoff is at 7pm. For those that don't make the trip to Stillwater, tune into ABC network. Sooners, visit soonersports.com for more information. Pokes, okstate.com is your reference for all things cowboy.

Sunday 11.28

Mic Check. Nothing goes better with lots of alcohol and a microphone than fearless idiots willing to belt out their best Poker Face in front of a room full of strangers. Come out to Club 209, 209 N. Boulder Ave., to watch or partake in a night of karaoke. Thoughtfully referred to as Sound of Music Sunday, karaoke kicks off at 9pm with no cover. Tomato throwing is not permitted and anyone with a nice set is pipes is welcome to return to the stage time and again. Good luck to all, singers and listeners alike. Visit club209tulsa.com for more information.

Monday 11.29

Rack 'em up. Sail on down to Caz's Pub, 21 E. Brady, and create a little nightlife of epic proportions. Grab a Corona or Tecate for $2 on this Mexican Monday or choke-up a little extra change for a shot or two. Take a cue off the wall and hit a few balls around at one of Caz's pool tables. If pool or even beer isn't your cup of tea, Caz's antler of bras is a must see and may be in need of a donation soon. If the beer, pool or bra covered set of antlers isn't enough, there is always food and a friendly bartender. Visit cazspub.com for more information.

Wednesday 12.1

Red Ribbon's Cause. For the first day of the last month in 2010, show up at Langston University-Tulsa, 914 N. Greenwood, in support of World AIDS Day. This year's awareness campaign, "Light for Rights," kicks off with a Tulsa CARES reception at 5pm. Bringing awareness to the need of HIV and AIDS related treatment and prevention services, the AIDS Coalition Candlelight Service brightens the campus at 6:30pm. Whether AIDS has personally affected you or not, come show support or learn a little about the cause. Visit worldaidscampaign.org for more information.

Thursday 12.2

Tripping in a Tutu. Ballet is such an elegant, beautiful, fluid and inspiring art. Don't forget hilarious. This year's Winter Celebration at the Tulsa Ballet in Studio K, 1212 E. 45th Pl. S., brings all the elements of ballet, even the unexpected, together for a one night only celebration of dance and camaraderie. Cozy up to Tulsa's most talented dancers at a pre-performance reception and then watch as they stun with an array of hand selected short pieces. Visit tulsaballet.org for information on tickets and times.
