Sweet Collaboration. Beautiful Brands International last week announced the launch of its first ever co-branded store in Jenks.

The new co-branded FreshBerry/Smallcakes store is located at 807 E. A St. The store will feature a shared counter and menu-board for guests as well as a small seating area. The launch is part of a franchise deal reached between BBI and Jeff and Brandy Martin, owners of Smallcakes, to market the brand on a global scale.

Founded in Kansas City in 2008, Smallcakes unique "cupcakery" restaurant bakes 15 varieties of cupcakes every day, each freshly topped with swirls of velvety icing in traditional and modern flavors. Cupcakes at the new location are $2.89 each or $28 per dozen.

FreshBerry's menu features all-natural frozen yogurt selections with toppings ranging from strawberry, blueberry, raspberry and other delicious fruits to Fruity Pebbles cereal, granola, toasted almonds, coconut and chocolate chips. FreshBerry also features a smoothie bar, yogurt by the half-gallon and FreshPops.

The Jenks store is open 10am-9pm Monday-Sunday.

Local Contributions. With the large variety of Made In Oklahoma (MIO) products produced in the state, the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry works to help these companies expand into new markets. MIO products are sold in gift shops, gourmet food stores and many more places in Oklahoma.

There will be an exhibition mall where Agritourism businesses will have the opportunity to shop the selection of MIO products that can be added to their retail shops. The event is also open to all other businesses to view products available for purchase individually or wholesale. The exhibition mall will be held March 1 from 12:30-4:30pm at The Nut House, 26677 S. Highway 66, in Claremore.

Business owners are encouraged to attend and see products such as chili mix, salsa, pickles, barbeque sauce, lavender products, pet treats, candles, pottery and more.

If interested in attending, please RSVP with your name and contact information to julie.fitzgerald@oda.state.ok.us or jeffery.weeks@oda.state.ok.us by Feb. 25.

Perfect Partners. The Tulsa Oilers have teamed up with ShopTulsa to offer a special discounted game, encouraging Tulsans to enjoy their local sports and entertainment options.

ShopTulsa night with the Oilers is March 1st. The special for that night's game against Rapid City will be $5 off regular admission.

This is the beginning of what ShopTulsa hopes to be a series of partnerships with local athletic teams, helping to spread the word that where we spend our money counts, and the more we buy locally, the stronger our city's economy becomes.

For more information on ShopTulsa and how to get involved, please visit shoptulsa.org or call Allison Broyles at 918-949-3860.
