A Mouse's Best Friend. A story of hope is somehow found in the lives of Charlie, a 32-year-old mentally retarded man, and Algernon, a mouse. Both undergo life-changing surgery and boost their intelligence fourfold but it doesn't seem to last. When Algernon begins to regress, Charlie races time before his own newfound intelligence runs out. Masked Minions. Marathons and fun runs are commonplace on the streets of Tulsa. It isn't unusual to see hundreds of people huffing and puffing through downtown in an effort to raise awareness or funds for a good cause; but how often are Mexican wrestlers leading the race? Join in the inaugural Elote Luchador Run as these masked lucha libre, Elote loving men and women take off from the Downtown YMCA, 418 S. Main St., and snake their way past ONEOK Field and the Center of the Universe in an effort to raise funds for Tulsa children who want to attend a YMCA summer program. Swingin' Tunes. Famous drummers aren't really a dime a dozen and there are even fewer who are credited with inventing their own styles. In lieu of this, Jared Johnson: The Jazz Message is playing tribute to Art Blakely at the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame, 111 E. First St. Bebop along with Jared as he drum rolls his way through the night with a killer backup band including saxophonist Tommy Poole and bassist, Jim Lofton. Who knows, maybe someone will be organizing a tribute to Jared someday.

Take Flight. Spring is trying desperately to bloom and chase away the cold for good and Robert Caldwell's outdoor paintings and graphite drawings are likely to inspire it to do just that. Stop by Lovetts Gallery, 6528 E. 51st St., to step into a climate controlled nature of wild proportions. Caldwell captures the graceful beauty that envelopes the great outdoors in his wildlife renderings. The exhibit only lasts through March, so get soaring.

Remember When. A trip to NASA takes more than just a day and isn't necessary when Tulsa has its very own aerospace history museum. Stop by the Tulsa Air and Space Museum & Planetarium, 3624 N. 74th East Ave., to catch the latest Memory exhibit and some faithful favorites. Only at TASM can kids discover what it feels like to sit in an F-14 Tomcat and adults learn why they've forgotten what they had for breakfast but remember the color of their kindergarten graduation dress. Play Ball. Tulsa's best little sandlot in town is revving up for the first exhibition game of the season and the Tulsa Driller's are ready for the match. Come out to ONEOK Stadium, 201 N. Elgin, to kick spring into high gear. The trees may bloom and the rain may come but nothing says spring like that first pitch from the mound.
