Libelous Truth?

(In response to "Feeding Frenzy" in the May 26-June 1 issue of Urban Tulsa Weekly)

I don't usually read your rag, but I happened to pick one up to see what it has to say about summer beers and I was unamused when I read a column about myself. The column was inaccurate and slanderous. I considered having my lawyer send you a cease and desist letter, but have simply decided to throw all you papers in the garbage. I don't appreciate you trashing me with lies. And your paper is no longer welcome at the DoubleShot. Don't bring them here anymore. If I see them here, I will throw them in the dumpster. No one reads it anyway.

Rock-a-Bye

(In response to "Feeding Frenzy" in the May 26-June 1 issue of Urban Tulsa Weekly)

This is ridiculous. We all were babies. Why are we so threatened by them? By not placing a changing station in the restaurant, the store was promoting changing in the restaurant. What else was the mother supposed to do? I have been in that situation and I did not want to change the baby in public but I assure you, I took notice and never went there again.

A baby changed on a diaper pad with good hygiene is not as gross as a filthy grownup with bad hygiene on the same couch. Why don't we say the older adults are not allowed to come to our favorite restaurant because they drool or wear depends or do not wear underwear, etc?

As for the nursing mothers, just get over yourself. I chose to wear a nursing cover when I nursed in public but I appreciate that not everyone feels the same as I do. I also find it painful to see multiple piercings in someone's face and huge holes in their ears. So what?

That is my hang up. If I am not happy with what I see then I can look away, or concentrate on something more visually appealing. They are just trying to feed hungry babies! This is about people's issues. People want the best for their babies and if you give them a good choice then they will choose it. If they want to provide a nursing area or a changing area that offers some advantages then most people will use it. Have some compassion. You should not be mean to a nursing mother or their babies. Society should protect the most vulnerable; we should have a hospitable spirit towards our children! FYI -- they are all of our future.

Go Team, Go

(In response to "Shock Absorption" in the June 2-8 issue of Urban Tulsa Weekly)

It is going to be a great year for the Shock and the Fans. Last year we enjoyed the spirit of the team as they played a full game of basketball even when the game was out of reach. However, Volt has got to be one of the best team mascots in all of basketball. I hope we renewed the contract of Volt.

Needle Magic

(In response to "Hole-istic Medicine" in the June 2-8 issue of Urban Tulsa Weekly)

I have a 12 year old Border Collie who had his right rear ACL repaired last year -- a few days after the surgery I took him to Dr. Owen to start the laser treatments. The treatments sped up the healing process and Buddy was using his leg again in about six weeks. After that we started in the underwater treadmill to build the strength back in his leg. Though he will never be 100 percent like he was, for an older dog he still has great mobility and can take half-mile walks with no problems. Dr. Heather and Jackie do great work.

Ruling the Beast

We live in a violent world with violent people. God is not here -- except in the hearts and minds of those doing good. In ancient times, kings and priests used the fear of the nature gods to enslave ignorant peasants -- saying those who do not obey God's chosen rulers will be punished. This is still being preached by false prophets, charlatans and moneychangers.

If God were responsible here this would be a better place to live but nature rules this world. We are here alone against the elements, disease, disasters, death and destruction, and the merciless monsters that abuse the vulnerable. Only fools would blame the evils of this world on God. Bad things happen to good people -- to the helpless, the innocent and little children.

Religionist lie that this is the leftover punishment from the Garden of Eden parable -- that is B.S. and a direct attack on God's goodness and justice -- revealed by Jesus in Luke 19:18-25. The laws of the nature were established before life was created here.

The earth is a living organism beyond our control -- but we can make things worse by not knowing the rules. We must live easy on the land and not encroach upon the process that provides for all life to exist. Global warming is real and the worst is coming if we do not prepare fast to protect the people from the changes in climate and food supplies. All deniers are serial killers for corporate polluters, politicians and preachers that lie for power and greed while all life hangs in the balance.
