Keep it in the Family. The Wrights have a show and story to tell. When poet, lyricist and performer Michael Wright brings along poet, pianist, songwriter and son Eli Wright, and artist, designer and daughter Hannah Wright, the bill is full and the show is ready. On the Streets. The Brady Arts District is ready to show off the latest local work in the First Friday Art Crawl. Ditch the movies or your normal Friday routine and come see all the art Tulsa has to offer from 6-9pm. Stop by the Tulsa Artists' Coalition, 9 E. Brady, to see Tulsa Taboo, on display through July. Club 209, 209 N. Boulder, shows off Esoteric Abstractions by Stewart Ross, while the Tulsa Glass Blowing Studio has original creations on display and, if you ask nicely, might give you a fiery demonstration.

Saturday 7.2

Hidden Below. Return to the summer of 1953 and imagine the beauty of the Danube River and Tuscan Vinyards. Margaret Johnson is sightseeing in Italy with her naïve daughter Clara when a sudden wind blows her hat off. Clara gives chase to find it at the feet of a handsome and charming Florentine, Fabrizio Naccarelli. This brief encounter sets off a whirlwind of a romance. Big Hats and Silks. Fair Meadows Live Racing takes off at Expo Square, 4145 E. 21st St., throughout the summer and patrons can saddle up and cheer for their favorite horse to gallop into the winner's circle. Monday 7.4

Yankee Doodle Day. Celebrate Independence Day in the heart of Tulsa at FreedomFest. Kids will enjoy face painting and rock climbing walls while adults get cozy under a night sky with festival food and live music in the background. The sky lights up at 9:35pm at River West Festival Park, 2100 S. Jackson Ave. Be sure to stop by one of the other two locations along the Arkansas River offering front row seats to the sparkling show, including Veterans Park, 1875 S. Free Form. Bebop on down to The Jazz Depot, 111 E. 1st St., for some wild improvisation by local jazz sensation, Devre Jackson. Free-wheelin' musicians take the stage for open jam from 5:30-7:30pm. Religious Riot. Hardcore metal bands, As They Sleep and Letters to the Exiles are ready to brutalize the stage at the Enerje Event Center, 9341 N. 129th E. Ave, in Owasso. These screaming, head-banging bands power chord their way through the raging crowd. Crowd surf through the mosh pit at 6pm with opening band, Upright.
