Fierce Forecast

It's Hotter Somewhere Else, Child

BY DESTANEE SANDSNESS AND MANDIE ROWDEN

Flag down the local ice cream man as he makes his way around your block, kick it inside an air conditioned coffee shop or art gallery, go ahead and grab some yogurt for lunch and dive into the cool waters of a pool. T-Town can beat the heat the right way -- it is, indeed, hotter somewhere else.

Kuwait City, Kuwait is expecting a whopping high of 122 degrees Fahrenheit. Sticky, sweaty, sandstorm creatures are on the rise.

Dallol, Ethiopia holds the record high average temperature for any inhabited spot on Earth. You couldn't tell with an expected 70 degrees as the high but I guess we can cut them some slack as there average year-round temperature of 94 degrees routinely rises well above 115 during the day and has stretched all the way to 145.

Death Valley, Calif. is bringing it back to the states with a tear jerking 117 degrees near Furnace Creek. Death Valley stays true to its reputation as the driest place in the nation -- no lively flowers here.

Where is Seymour, Tex., you ask? The important thing is it's not near here. The tiny town in northern Texas holds the state record and is forecasted to endure 110 degrees for nearly a week.

As of late, Tulsa has easily rivaled some of the hottest spots on the planet, but try not to let the heat bring you down, as there are plenty of ways to stay cool. Besides, at least the sandstorms and endless desert isn't coating our sweat-covered skin. So, throw on that Speedo and make the best of the situation in true T-town fashion.
