Fiscal Future. Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology in Okmulgee is collaborating with the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE) in offering three workshops around the eastern part of the state to help students and parents take full advantage of available resources to help pay for college.

Through hands-on activities, lectures and exercises, "The Scholarship and Financial Aid Workshop" will provide participants -- high school freshmen through seniors, adult students and parents -- with the means to access funding resources for college. All materials will be provided and a free lunch will be offered following the workshop.

Theresa Battles, customer service and outreach representative for OSRHE, says the sessions will provide an excellent opportunity for parents and students to pick up tips on planning, preparing for and paying for college.

Ina Agnew, OSUIT's Vice President for Enrollment Management, says it's important that university representatives educate families on available financial resources, since the cost for a college education continues to increase.

The Tulsa event is Saturday, Oct. 15 from 9am to 12pm at Tulsa Technology Center -- Lemley Campus at 3420 S. Memorial Drive in Tulsa.

The Okmulgee event is Saturday, Nov. 5 from 9am to 12pm at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology at 1801 E. 4th St. in Okmulgee.

A workshop will be scheduled at a later date at a location in McAlester.

Anyone interested in attending "The Scholarship and Financial Aid Workshop" should register for their desired date/location by visiting the OSU Institute of Technology web site at osuit.edu/scholarship.
