Although we've already shed light on a couple of big shows at Cain's Ballroom this weekend, that's far from all we have going on in town. We've got a packed schedule this week, so here are just a few of the highlights to get you pointed out the door and in the right direction.
Thursday, Jan. 19
The all-ages and teen crowd should be flocking to The Marquee for Drake Bell as he headlines a packed club show downtown. Meanwhile, the older crowd looking for something more organic will enjoy either the jam band vibe of Mountain Sprout at Mercury Lounge or some serious songwriting with Danny Schmidt and Jared Tyler at The Colony.
Friday, Jan. 20
Although the larger crowd should be at the Homegroan Showcase at Cain's Ballroom, the rest of the town is still booming. Promo Dave & the Haters will be rocking Hunt Club while Moai Broadcast packs out The Colony and a double bill of punk rock with Rude Amps and The Shame makes Mercury Lounge the place to be on Friday night.
Saturday, Jan. 21
If you can't pick just one stop, then this is the best night to be hopping clubs. Philip Zoellner Band plays The Colony while Midnight River Choir returns to Mercury Lounge for a raucous night. Eric Himan also returns to Hunt Club with his band and Til Metro opening while Forever Blowing Bubbles and Kite Flying Robot pack out Soundpony. Perhaps the most rocking show of the night, however, will be a co-headliner with Vandevander and RL Jones at Fassler Hall that pure rock fans just can't miss.
Sunday, Jan. 22
Wrap up your weekend in style by taking in something cool on Sunday night. If you're a classic country fan, you can't go wrong with country legend Merle Haggard at River Spirit Event Center. If you're and indie rock fan, The Daymoths return to Tulsa for an intimate show at Soundpony to cap things off.
