Great Topping. Hideaway Pizza opened its 12th location outside of Stillwater and donated the total proceeds from sales on opening day, Feb. 21, to Lone Star Elementary.
Oklahoma's 55-year-old pizza chain has donated their first day's sales from their four most recent openings to schools with a specific identified need and the money is free to be used on whatever project the principal chooses.
The new restaurant location seats 182 and sits on Olympia Blvd. facing west in the busy shopping center, in front of the recently opened Dick's Sporting Goods.
Colorful Kicks. At Pinot's Palette, a franchise set to open in March, allows customers sign up for 2- or 3-hour painting classes while enjoying wine, snacks and other drinks with friends. They depart at the end of the evening with their own 16-inch by 20-inch acrylic painting on stretched canvas, having laughed and sipped their way through a real, live (and very fun) art class -- or as some call it, "painting party."
The Tulsa location is owned by local Lisa Riley and staffed by local artists who teach the lively painting classes. The classes also cater to painters of all levels ranging from beginners to the more experienced.
Pinot's Palette operates two company-owned locations, one franchise in the Houston area, and one franchise in the Dallas area and expects to open more franchises nationwide in 2012. It provides full franchise support to its new business owners.
