Bonus Tracks

Is it true? March is here and spring is well on its way. Although we apparently escaped with a mild winter, the weather is still warming up and so is the concert calendar. We've got the highlights to get you out the door and headed in the right direction, so check these out to get started..

Thursday, March 1

Kid Rock is the biggest show of the night, but it's a sold-out gig at The Joint, so good luck if you don't already have tickets for this one. A better bet for local music fans is Eric Himan's debut at Fassler Hall with his full band accompanying him. Also worth checking out are the Ninja Party with Dachshund and The Move at Crystal Pistol and Grazzhopper's Grateful Dead tribute "American Beauty" at The Treehouse.

Friday, March 2

There are plenty of shows to choose from, but if you've yet to witness The Damn Quails, you can't miss them as they arrive at Fassler Hall with Pilgrim opening. Damn Quails aren't just one of the hottest bands on the Americana charts; they're one of the best bands in the state right now and always put on a great show, so don't be a fool and don't miss it! Also on Friday night, The Bourgeois and Foreign Home play Eclipse with Wolves and David Castro Band plays Hunt Club. The stealth show of the weekend also flies under the radar on Friday night as The Derailers return to Mercury Lounge for what will be a great night of music as well.

Saturday, March 3

It's a more subtle night as perennial ABoT Music winner Kristin Nicole Band plays Blue Rose Café, Freak Juice rocks Hunt Club and Steve Pryor holds court at The Colony. Also on the calendar is the annual Bob Wills Birthday celebration concert at Cain's Ballroom with The Texas Playboys and Round Up Boys.

Saturday, March 3

The weekend wraps up with an amazing show by Gungor with The Brilliance at Cain's Ballroom while all the local haunts have their weekly staples like Brandon Clark at Mercury Lounge, Paul Benjaman at The Colony and Bramhall Blues Review at Treehouse.
