We're No. 5. For the third consecutive year, ONEOK Field, home of the Tulsa Drillers, has made PETA's Top 10 Vegetarian-Friendly Ballparks list, this year securing 5th place in the minor league category.
"ONEOK Field might host the minor leagues, but when it comes to the delicious health-, Earth-, and animal-friendly food offered at its concession stands, it's a major league player all the way," says PETA Associate Director Chris Holbein, who was not munching on a Driller Dog at the time. "Even before the first pitch is thrown out, the Drillers is a big winner in our book," he said.
Menu items such as the the vegetarian taco salad, bean burrito, vegetable wraps, and the hummus tabouli platter put ONEOK on the list.
Each major and minor league team to make the Top 10 Vegetarian-Friendly Ballparks list will receive a framed certificate from PETA, which, unfortunately, will not feature the Driller's walking-beef mascot, Hornsby.
We're No. 22. Cain's Ballroom has done it again. According to Pollstar's 2012 mid-year worldwide ticket sales for the top 100 club venues, Cain's Ballroom has scooped up the No. 22 spot for its second year in a row. Having earned the prestigious position by selling 47,829 tickets to date, the Cain's matches last years ticket sales and joins the ranks of venues like House of Blues, The Pageant and Stubs Bar-B-Q, just to name a few. Cain's has also recently caught the eye of CNN and made their "10 Fabulous U.S. Music Venues," and continues to cater great music to the region.
