Art Across the Pond. See beautiful photography of the English seaside by Nige' Ollis paired with the paint to canvas interpretations by Michelle Firment Reid at the Tulsa Artists Coalition Gallery, 9 E. Brady St., from now until August 25. The exhibit called Where The Land Meets The Sea: Together Alone, The Artist & The Photographer is the combined work of two artists who have never met: Ollis lives in Bristol, England and Firment Reid lives in Tulsa, and will be on display from 6-9pm, Thursday through Saturday or by appointment.

Sink or Swim. Test your cardboard boat building skills at the Fifth Annual River Rumba Regatta sponsored by Muskogee Parks and Recreation, Port Authority and the Muskogee Exchange Club. The Fun kicks off Thursday night with pre-race activities and the big race is scheduled for Friday at 10am. Boats can be registered from 9-10am the day of the race and will be up for more that ten different titles and awards. The race will be held at Three Forks Harbor, located at River Mile 393.6 of the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System.

Coming Home. Fans of both traditional and contemporary Cherokee artworks will find a mix of craft items like jewelry and pottery as well as sculpture, paintings and many other types of artwork at the 17th annual Cherokee Homecoming Art Show. Sponsored by Cherokee Nation Businesses, the show runs through Sept. 16 at the Cherokee Heritage Center, 21192 S. Keeler Drive in Park Hill. Admission is $8.50 per adult and $5 per child, with admission $7.50 for seniors and students. Hours are from 9am to 5pm.

Hear the sweet jazz and musical stylings of Shelby Eicher, Janet Rutland and Family, who will perform as The Eicher Family Band at The Depot, Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame, 111 E. 1st St. from 5-7pm. Future Astronauts Unite. Go stargazing with the folks of Broken Arrow Sidewalk Astronomers at Explore Our Cosmic Neighborhood, where everyone is welcome to come out to the Broken Arrow South Library, 3600 S. Chestnut Ave., from 6:30-8pm to learn about asteroids, comets and meteors. Stargazers are welcome to bring their own telescopes and lounge on the grassy area behind the library, a prime spot for catching shooting stars and a glimpse of the moon. On This Day in History. Celebrate the 49th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s famous "I Have a Dream" speech at Suburban Acres Library, 4606 N. Garrison Ave. at 4pm. A video presentation of the speech will be shown and attendees will be able to reflect on the triumphs of the Civil Rights Movement and Dr. Marking Luther King Jr. Witness a piece of history and commemorate the life and wisdom of a courageous man.

What Do You Know? Test your trivia genius with some of "Tulsa's biggest know-it-alls" at the Tulsa Press Club's "Press Your Luck" event Thursday night at the Stokely Event Center, 10111 E. 45th Pl. The evening will kickoff with a beer and wine reception at 6:30pm and trivia fun will follow at 7:30pm. Tickets are $40 an individual and include all the evening's festivities.
