Asleep at the Wheel, presented by Signature Symphony

As part of its ridiculously fun "TTCU Signature Pops" series, Tulsa's Signature Symphony brings the legendary western-swing groups to town this weekend for a night that will certainly live up to the "Pops" part of the series' moniker.

AatW has been doing its thing for more than four decades, winning nine Grammys and producing nearly 30 albums along the way, all the while serving as ambassadors of the music by and inspired by Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys.

October 19 and 20 at the VanTrease PACE.

Slaid Cleaves, presented by Tulsa Little Theater

Hailed by Chicago Reader as "one of the country's most compelling roots artists," Cleaves brings his earnest, storytelling songs to town on Saturday night.

Advance tickets from Ticketstorm.com, Cafe Cubana at 1340 E. 15th or Starship Records at 13th & Lewis are $25; door tickets are $30. October 20 at 7:30pm at Tulsa Little Theatre, 1511 S. Delaware Ave.

Louis C. K. at the Brady Theater

Louis CK is one of those love-him-or-hate-him comedians. As the writer and star of the comedy "Louis," and as a road warrior extraordinaire who has been doing standup since the late-'80s, he's a comedian's comedian. He's written for Letterman, Conan, and Chris Rock, and he's the writer and star of his own darkly funny show, Louie.

He brings his caustic humor to the Brady Friday night. Fans will be delighted. The easily-offended will be horrified. The sold-out show kicks off at 7pm.

Pee Wee's Big Adventure, presented by AMC Southroads 20 Fall Classics series

This week finds the eponymous ninny searching for the basement of the Alamo and running with Large Marge. You know all this. See it again all week: October 19-25.

20,000 Leagues under the Sea, presented by Cinemark Tulsa Movie Classics series

Captain Nemo navigates to Tulsa on Wednesday for a return to the Jules Vern classic. This 1954 smash hit stars a svelt Kirk Douglas. If you've never seen this one, don't miss this opportunity.
