The first in a three-show series, Kyle Dillingham kicks off the UpClose concert series.

The fiddler is incredibly well-traveled and played the Grand Ole Opry as a freaking teenager. The UpClose series is laid out as an interaction between audience and artist, so you know someone's going to ask for some Charlie Daniels.

Margaret Sewell and the Beethoven Folk Song Trio, presented by the Tulsa PAC Trust's Brown Bag It concert series

Sewell lends her lovely pipes to the folk songs of Beethoven, accompanied by piano and strings. Enjoy the music and little of the story behind the composer's work on folk music in the early 1800s. October 24 at 12:10pm in the Tulsa PAC's Westby Pavillion, 110 E. 2nd St.

Jazz Depot Open Jam, presented by the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame

Every Tuesday, local jazzers get together at the Jazz Hall of Fame at 111 E. 1st St. for an open jam. Players get to swing, and listener do, too. Oh, and there's wine.

The Exorcist, presented by AMC Southroads 20 Fall Classics series

It's a toss-up as to whether this or The Shining is the scariest movie ever. Most people lean toward the one with pea soup and spinning head. This movie scared the hell out of me when I was a teenager -- enough that I'm not going to see it this week. But you totally should.
