Fortunately, we all survived Black Friday, the weekend sales, and Bedlam weekend. As the Christmas holiday draws near, everyone's schedules undoubtedly grow more packed with holiday parties and other obligations. Nevertheless, we've still got a busy and vibrant music scene continuing to thrive, so when you need an escape to blow off some steam, you've got plenty of great options at your fingertips. It's another busy week in Tulsa and as always, we've got the highlights, so let's get started.

Thursday, November 29

The biggest show of the night (and also the classiest) kicks off the week as The Irish Tenors arrive at The Joint for a special, one night only appearance that adds a new spin to the Hard Rock. Across town, singer/songwriter Jonathan Coulton plays The Shrine and The Vanguard hosts a special show by Meganaut.

Friday, November 30

Difuser holds a CD release party with special guests Triple Fang, Shake Shake, and The Loaded Dice at The Vanguard, beginning at 8pm with a low $5 cover. If you want even more local music, check out All About A Bubble with K-Sides and The Bourgeois at The Shrine, The Big O Duo (Andrea & Kristin) at Coffeehouse on Cherry Street, or Damion Shade at Back Alley Blues & BBQ. There's a race for most interesting show of the night, however, and you'll have to choose between the country grit of Jason Eady playing an up close and personal show at Mercury Lounge or checking out the eclectic guitar master Keller Williams at Cain's Ballroom.

Saturday, December 1

Hunt Club hosts a night of rock with No Tide, Hey Dollface!, and Rocker Lips while The Vanguard plays home to The Edge's Homegroan Showcase with KickTree, Madewell, Sleepwalking Home and Beneath. Cain's Ballroom goes honky-tonk with Casey Donahew and Matt Stell & the Crashers for a great show. The hottest ticket of the week, though, is Oklahoma's first lady of country, Reba, as she plays a sold out show at The Joint.

Monday, December 3

The country theme continues as The Gatlin Brothers headline a show at Osage Event Center as we ease out of the weekend. The stealth show of the week, however, is underground indie sensation The Mountain Goats as they play Cain's Ballroom with Matthew E. White.

Tuesday, December 4

It's a relatively quiet night, but if you're looking for a chill evening of tunes, kick back at Hunt Club with Jason Ferguson.

Wednesday, December 5

The week wraps up with a huge dance party at Cain's Ballroom with Tulsa's favorite dance rock band Ghostland Observatory, who always bring a great show and good time for all.
