CULTURE & LIFESTYLE
Processed - Silkscreen prints by Schmickle, Yang & Live4This
Work focuses on the intersection of graphic design, fine art, pop-culture and how these realms influence one another. What happens when the definitions of art and design are tweaked? What constitutes a work of art versus a work of design? They use silk screen printing to echo the mass-production processes that are commonly seen on store shelves.

Art, Wine, & Dine
In an age where even doodling gets its own app for the smart phone; creating art the old fashioned way (with easel, paint and a brush) feels both nostalgic and primitive. For those who have not painted in a while or who have never painted, a blank canvas can be less daunting thanks to the combined efforts of Broken Arrow's Main Street Tavern and Your Design. Starting January 21st, 2013, "Art, Wine & Dine" will be available for the community! Instructor Alisa Inglett combines humor, encouragement and visual guidance with the muse of vino to create 2 hour classes. These classes were created around the idea of providing a stress reliever for friends, families or co-workers to enjoy together. An unexpected, but obvious result was discovered... "Art, Wine & Dine" provides a positive environment to meet new like minded people. Participants will be guided to paint a selected image. You'll leave with a full tummy and an original piece of art!

The Mystical Writings of Dionysius
Having provided an introduction to spiritual theology in the fall semester,
the spring semester will examine in greater detail the writings
of some individual mystics of the Church, beginning with Dionysius the Areopagite. Though his writings were few, and his life was shrouded in mystery, he profoundly influenced the Middle Ages. Hailed by St. Bonaventure as the “prince of mystics,’ he is quoted in the writings of St. Thomas more than any other theologian.
