I had lunch with a friend who has been trying to coax me to GG for quite some time now, today. Briefly I’ll say that I enjoyed my entrée very much, as I should, since I designed it. The whole ‘build your own’ experience was enjoyable, choices are fun. The staff seemed adequate and the kitchen cooked the food perfectly. My problem was (also the reason I probably will NOT return, regrettably) A cockroach crawled out of the menu that was given to us. I only saw the insect on the wall, next to our outside table. I jumped up, all creeped out, and was satisfied to move to another, nearby table. My dining partner, oddly, saved the information regarding where it TRULY, originally, came from until AFTER I had paid and we were far from the restaurant. I had excused myself to get something from the car momentarily. Even when she told me, far too late, I was sickened by the news and nauseous.

Update to Burned Customer. The owner has put forth an effort to redeem the situation. I appreciate the effort and realize he cant be held accountable for others actions. I will continue to eat at Genghis.

   Burned Customer

I use to LOVE Genghis, until my most recent visit. I left my cell phone at my table when I left. My waiter was kind enough to take my phone to the hostess stand since he knew i would be back for it. With in two hours i returned for my phone only to be told they cant find it. Two different waiters confirmed that they had my cell phone in their possession at a location only employees have access to but now its gone. The manager Kevin on duty was the worst person to talk to about the situation. He didn't even try to help look for the phone but instead walked around holding a light bulb talking on his blackberry staring at the ceiling. After I escalated the incident the manager Kevin then says "yes one of my employees probably did steal your phone but there isn't anything I can do about it." He didn't even apologize that this happened. A week later i still don't have my phone. I will never eat at any Genghis in Tulsa or Bixby since the owner is the same for both locations and also blew me off when the incident was escalated. You would think they would be more concerned with the staff they hire stealing customers property but they are not. If you continue to eat here please leave all your valuables in your car locked or make sure to have them on you at all times. Not because of the other customers but because you cant trust the staff.

Every time we go they burn all the food. We now go to the location in bixby. It's VERY worth the extra drive! Servers are slow and ill mannered. I would advise against this location.

Great food, great atmosphere and really good servers. I have eaten here 4 times now and have never been disappointed.

Its surprising to see a comment like the one before because I personally know two of the male managers and both are mild mannered and quiet and it lends me to believe that that is a fake comment.

Either way, I get to personalize my meal and make it as healthy as I need and that pays for itself when eating out.

On Thursday, May 27 at around 6:30 pm my daughter and Iwere at the Genghis Grill to get a bite to eat. As it was a pleasant evening we decided to eat outside. When we were through the waitress brought the bill and wrote $10.99 on it in ink and told us that was what was owed. Then she went back inside. My daughter was treating me so she took out $14.00 that she had earned babysitting (the bill plus a $3.00 tip)and went in to find the waitress to give her the money personally so it wouldn't be left outside where anyone could come along and take it. Let me repeat that. My daughter made an EFFORT to find the waitress and make sure the bill WAS paid.

As we were leaving a man I assume was the manager came running out of the restaurant, with our waitress, screaming obscenities at us, calling us thieves and threatening to call the police! When we crossed back over the street to see what he wanted he continued to scream obscenities and threats in the presence of my DAUGHTER! When I pointed out we paid what we were told we owed (he was actually holding the money and the receipt while all this was going on) he said the bill was actually $30.00!

After examining the bill myself we decided to pay the difference but even the he continued to verbally abuse both me and my daughter! We had NO intention of not paying our bill. In fact because we were outside we could have left anytime without them knowing if we wanted to do that. But we didn't. WE went looking for Them to make SURE the bill was paid. If there was a discrepancy the waitress should have caught it when my daughter gave her the money. But even if she didn't catch it then then the manager could have just come out and said something like, "I'm sorry sir there's been a mistake. Your actual total is this amount." However he elected to scream obscenities at both me and my daughter instead EVEN as we were paying the rest of what he said we owed. Needless to say we will NEVER eat there again.
