Got Flute? Learn how to create your own flute just like the Plains Indians and watch as a master creates her own layered recorder and more. Flautist and Storyteller Leslie Brown will perform at the Tulsa Historical Society, 2445 S. Peoria Ave., at 6:30pm. The event is free and open to the public, children are welcome and lemonade and cookies will be provided. Learn about Native American style flutes and hear beautiful music. Two Worlds Are Better Than One. Dance is an integral part of Osage culture and a tradition that marks the beginning of many things from a raid to a hunt. WahZhaZhe: An Osage Ballet will premiere at 8pm in Holland Hall at Walter Arts Center, 5666 E. 81st St., a world premier for the contemporary ballet that incorporates Oklahoma history and more. Watch the story of the Osage people unfold through dance and song while experiencing the richness of Osage culture.



Sleep Is For Wimps. Stop, drop and roll the cameras at the fourth annual Circle Cinema Slumber Party: Operation TNT. This is not your little sister's sleep over. This action movie marathon at Circle Cinema, 10 S. Lewis Ave., will feature five action movies including, Commando, Stone Cold, Invasion U.S.A., Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky and a secret movie to be revealed to those left at the end. Tickets are $20 and guests are welcome to 50 percent off all concessions, complementary gelato from Mod's Coffee & Crepes, giveaways and more.



Beyond Borders. The Oklahoma Young Artists award recipients don't simply get a plaque; they've won something cooler than that. This year's winner Steven Schrag along with last year's winner Baron Ryan will give a 10 day musical tour through Israel as Oklahoma-Israeli Exchange cultural ambassadors. Catch them at 5pm at the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame, 111 E. 1st St. for their awards concert. Tickets for members and seniors are $10, $15 for general admission and $20 for reserved table seating.



I Can Do It Myself. Tired of pesticides and non-organic produce? Then grow it yourself! Learn how easy it is to develop a self-sufficient lifestyle, right in the middle of town. No one needs fifty acres to grow the components of a salad when most urban dwellers have backyards and porches. Urban homesteading and other topics will be discussed, including beekeeping, food storage, gardening and other green topics at 7pm at Zarrow Regional Library, 2224 W. 51st St.



My Little Pony. Check out the adorable and purebred American Shetland miniatures at the Shetland Pony Congress. This rare breed became popular with the Europeans in the early 1800s and has cast a spell on horse lovers alike. Who doesn't love a good horse show? They're ponies for heaven's sake! Get your pony fix the Expo Square, 4145 E. 21st St. from Tuesday August 7 to Sunday August 12. The event is free and offers something for the whole family. Fine Art, Not Contagious. Take in the works of Fernando and Humberto Campana from 1989 to 2009. Inspired by Brazilian street carnivals and life, the South American fiber artists are sure to mesmerize onlookers with their opulent works of art. The exhibition will feature 20 years of the brothers' inventive art, brought to you by the Vitra Design Museum, Philbrook's first collaboration with their partner museum from Germany. The exhibit will be open to the public through October 7 at the Philbrook Museum of Art, 2727 S. Rockford Rd.



How High? DVIS and the Call Rape Associate Board will host the Rise to the Cause Rooftop Rendezvous at the Mayo Hotel rooftop, 115 W. 5th St., to fund raise and more. Tickets are $50 each and attendees must be 21 or older. The night's festivities will include live music, cocktails and more starting at 6pm, followed by a speech by a survivor and all of the resources and services DVIS has to offer.
