First Oklahoma Bank Groundbreaking. First Oklahoma Bank, a relative newcomer to the banking scene, is scheduled to break ground on its new headquarters Thursday, Dec. 20 at 100 S. River Front Drive -- near the west end of the Jenks bridge.

When First Oklahoma Bank was created by acquisition in Nov. 2009, it was the third smallest bank by assets in Oklahoma. Since then, it has set a state record for fastest bank growth. It has gone from $9.7 million in assets at its establishment to nearly $200 million in assets on Sept. 30, the last date for which figures are available.

First Oklahoma Bank is a family affair, with father and son Thomas Bennett Jr. and Thomas Bennett III serving as co-CEOs. The family matriarch, Sue Bennett, serves as director of marketing. Even though First Oklahoma is new, the Bennett family has been in Oklahoma banking for years, having first co-founded Oklahoma National Bank.

The groundbreaking is scheduled for 1:30pm.
