The Chalkboard
1324 S. Main St., 582-1964
Located in the swanky Hotel Ambassador, The Chalkboard offers gourmet breakfast and a classy setting to boot. The sirloin steak and eggs are served with breakfast potatoes and toast. If you're feeling a bit more continental, try the eggs benedict, poached eggs on Canadian bacon served in an English muffin.

Chipotle
10904 E. 71st St., 459-2464
Like burritos? Chipotle will custom build yours right before your eyes. The chicken and steak marinate for hours and then grilled. Every burrito comes with a side of cilantro-lime rice, your choice of pinto or vegetarian black beans, and traditional Mexican condiments. There are salads, too, and guacamole if you're feeling saucy.
HOURS: MON-SUN 11AM-10PM
Jazmo'z Bourbon Street Cafe
1542 E. 15th St., 583-5555
Looking for a taste of New Orleans? Jazmo's is celebrating its 15th anniversary this month on Cherry Street. Stop in and try a southern treat for your appetizer like the alligator, shrimp or calamari. For dinner try a blackened steak, the Satchmo's salmon or really go for it with the Crawfish Etouffee. If these authentic dishes aren't enough, there's pretty much always a little live jazz going on to complete the atmosphere.
HOURS: SUN-THURS 11AM-9PM; FRI-SAT 11AM-10PM
Lanna Thai
7227 S. Memorial Dr., 249-5262
Start with a Curry Puff: deep fried pastry filled with curried potatoes, onions, carrots and peas. For a late meal, give the Pla Jian a whirl: a filet of deep-fried trout topped with sweet sauce, ginger, tomatoes, onions, bell peppers and tamarind sauce. For dessert try Glua Buoad-Chee, banana cooked in sweet coconut milk.
HOURS: SUN-THURS 11AM-10PM; FRI-SAT 11AM-11PM
