Who doesn't enjoy a warm bagel in the morning? Make new friends and grab an assortment of bagels for your coworkers. Top it off with flavored cream cheeses including: hazelnut, honey walnut, raspberry, sun-dried tomato and veggie. Panera also offers coffee by the gallon, so no one goes thirsty.
HOURS: MON-SAT 6AM-9PM; SUN 8AM-8PM
Lunch: Pare, 1141 S. Quaker, 582-7273
Pare calls itself "your neighborhood gourmet take-out market," and it's a good place to pick up a quick lunch that's still "real food." Pare's rotating selection of seasonal options includes salads like the Chicken and Basil Pesto Pasta Salad, as well as cool and refreshing Gazpacho soup.
HOURS: MON-FRI 11AM-6PM
Lola's at the Bowery
5 E. Brady, 592-7995
Lola's is one of those rare places where you can enjoy a meal, fine art and schnazzy music at the same time. For dinner, Lola's filet comes wrapped in apple-smoked bacon and roasted poblano peppers. The chef literally roasts the peppers in the fire, creating an authentic roasted taste. If steak's not your game, try the Curry Chicken with sautéed tomatoes and garlic.
Hours: MON-FRI 4-10PM; SAT 5PM-12AM
Joe Momma's Pizza
114 S. Elgin Ave., 794-6563
10309 E. 61st St., 459-0096
Chances are your momma never made a pizza like this. That is unless you had a brick oven in your house growing up. Build a pizza just the way you like it, or take a pick from the list of specialties. With mushrooms, black olives, green peppers, Roma tomatoes and onions, The Natalie Portman (no joke) is a great choice for vegetarians and meat eaters alike.
Hours: SUN 11AM-10PM; MON-THURS 11AM-12AM; FRI-SAT 11AM-3AM
