Chicory and Chives

3121 Charles Page Blvd., 585-3500

Home-style food with a Cajun twist is what you'll find at this west Tulsa mom and pop. The breakfast buffet is a big morning attraction offering everything from scrambled eggs, French toast, home fries, biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage links and patties. They also serve a lunch that'll make you feel like you're by the bayou, with favorites including crawfish etouffee or gumbo.

HOURS: MON-FRI: 6:30AM-2PM; SAT 7AM-NOON

Ike's Chili House

5941 E. Admiral Pl., 838-9410

This place has been around about as long as Tulsa itself, so you know one thing: Ike's knows its chili. Cooks prepare 300-pound pots full of chili throughout the week and serve the mildly spicy soup with just about anything. Try a Frito pie, a chili cheeseburger, spaghetti with chili or a chili cheese Coney. You also could have some pasta (spicy or mild, of course), a hamburger or a basket of chicken tenders. Ike's is now also serving the BOK Center.

Eating at Tally's is like time-traveling back to the '50s, thanks to the retro neon sign that greets customers and the classic diner interior. Tally's is right on Route 66 (aka 11th Street), and the restaurant follows the promise of timeless home cooked fare. Get your fill of bacon, eggs, waffles, blueberry pancakes after a late night on the town. Tally's won Best Diner at this year's Absolute Best of Tulsa awards, too, so you know they're good!
