Revved Up. Route 66 Harley-Davidson, 3637 S. Memorial Dr., is holding an open house Saturday, April 30 from 10am to 6pm. The event will feature live music by Another Alibi, a burnout contest, dyno runs, a bikini contest and more.
The store is under new ownership this year and Dale Rhoads is providing a new look to the Harley-Davidson scene in Tulsa. Upcoming events, aimed at building relationships with customers, are giving back to the loyal Harley-Davidson owners and are expected to help build the Harley culture in Tulsa.
Route 66 Harley-Davidson hosts Bike Night every Thursday night at Twin Peaks Tulsa, 7007 S. Memorial Dr. On May 21, the store will serve as a live remote for KMOD-FM and host a hot wing cook-off contest. Visit route66h-d.com for more information.

Actor, philanthropist, community leader and businessman Edward James Olmos will be the keynote speaker on May 21 when the Greater Tulsa Hispanic Chamber of Commerce hosts its annual Excelencia Awards Gala. The event will be held at the Hyatt Hotel, 100 E. 2nd St. in downtown Tulsa.
The gala will recognize Chamber members who have contributed to the organization's mission of growing business through people and partnerships. The Excelencia Awards fall into three categories: The Avance Award, given to the Hispanic business of the year; The Fred Bendaña Amigo Award, which goes to the community leader of the year; and The Adelante Award, presented to the corporate member of the year. Shady Décor. The Downtown Deco District Chalk Art Festival will be an addition to this year's Mayfest.
Artists will be categorized by high school, college or adult. Each artist will be given a $25 stipend for chalk and a 10-foot square of asphalt in which they will create a unique mural. Artists will begin drawing at 10am on May 21 and have four hours to complete their work. Awards will be presented at 5pm.
The public, as well as patrons of Mayfest and the Blue Dome Arts Festival, will be able to view this entire process as it takes place on Boston Ave. between 4th and 6th Streets. The street will remain closed until Sunday evening at 5pm for further viewing.
