Here's Looking at You. Imagine visiting the Tulsa Air and Space Museum to learn about Tulsa's rich aerospace history and sitting down to chat with a former astronaut, a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor or a World War II B-17 tail gunner? That's what guests have in store when they attend the upcoming Hometown Heroes event to be held on Oct. 15, from 5-8pm at the Sherman and Ellie Smith Hangar One Museum.
In conjunction with the special traveling exhibit, Our Lives, Our Stories: America's Greatest Generation, Hometown Heroes is an evening specifically dedicated to those in the Tulsa community that are a part of America's Greatest Generation.
Highlights of the event will include hometown cuisine at the canteen, complimentary beverages, a silent auction, "War Bonds" for sale to include a rousing raffle for a P-51 flight, music of the era, and re-enactors of the Greatest Generation.
Event guests will have the opportunity to tour the inspirational exhibit that highlights the experiences of the Greatest Generation through free-standing photomural panels graphics small object cases; plus, freestanding immersive environments. Artifacts include household items, Civilian Conservation Corps materials, toys, military and homefront items from World War II, and much more.
Sponsorships are still available and reservations are required. Tickets may be purchased by visiting tulsaairandspacemuseum.org or by phone at 918-834-9900 ext. 115
