Get a Fix. Phillip and Tracey Farmer announced plans to open a Teen Club and Party Rental Facility in the Village at Woodland Hills Shopping Center at 71st St. and Memorial Dr. behind Gold's Gym.
A California concept, KRave T-Town will offer teens a trendy place of their own with a wide range of activities including live music, DJ's, 3,250 square foot dance floor, large game/arcade area, karaoke mini stage, web surfing, study areas, high definition video projection screens, VIP lounge, and concession areas. Admittance is recommended for teens 13 to 18 years old. It provides a safe supervised indoor venue.
KRave planners have recently completed final design details. The 9,392 square foot facility is expected to open this December. It is expected to accommodate over 800 patrons.
As residents of the greater Tulsa area for 15 years, Phillip and Tracey Farmer explained their involvement is a family affair.
The facility will also be available days and weekends for special events, banquets, and parties.

Chill Out. Tulsa Parks Community Centers are taking reservations for Winter Break Day Camps. Camps vary between Dec. 21 and Jan. 3, 2012. Space is limited. Fees vary.

Scientific Source. Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology (OSUIT) is offering a new Associate in Science degree in Allied Health Sciences. It will provide the first two years of general education courses and science courses that will later transfer to a four-year university offering a bachelor's degree in a health care field.
Dr. Mark Allen, OSUIT's Arts & Sciences Division chair, says the degree program was developed in response to the need for more skilled workers in health care fields.
OSUIT's A.S. degree in Allied Health Sciences places a heavy emphasis on science classes and includes the core courses for the following majors: pre-nutritional sciences; pre-nuclear medicine; pre-radiation therapy; pre-radiography; pre-sonography; pre-physical and occupational therapy; pre-communication sciences and disorders.

Graduates from OSUIT's degree program can transfer seamlessly to The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Tulsa or to other Oklahoma universities to work on a bachelor's degree in order to go into an Allied Health Sciences career field. OSUIT developed a Memorandum of Understanding with OU-Tulsa specifically to allow all courses to transfer into their program.

Higher Education. ReadySetLaunch, a student-run non-profit based at Yale University is seeking local high school students to apply to its fast-growing program. The organization has emphasized a commitment to serving highly-motivated low-income students throughout the country as a means of helping them through the college application process.
Through a free telementoring service (primarily via phone and email), students learn options and best practices when applying to or choosing a college. ReadySetLaunch mentors spend approximately 40 minutes with each students every two weeks and the relationship continues through the college application process. Standing for Something.The latest Stand ApART newsstand has reached its final destination at McNellie's, 409 E. 1st St. Local artist Rachel Dennis worked her magic, creating a grid design, tied together with T-town's skyline for the Irish pub stand.
Readers can find 8 location- or charity-inspired newsstands sprinkled throughout the city in businesses like The Brook or organizations such as St. John's Health Club.
