We Have a Winner
President Barack Obama's presidential campaign invited artists from across the nation to submit poster designs promoting the American Jobs Act.
After more than 1,000 designs were submitted to Obama for America's "Art Works" contest, 12 finalists were chosen by public votes. One of those finalists was Tulsa graphic artist Jeff Rogers.

And Rogers recently found out his poster design was not only a finalist but one of the three official winners. "I was excited to see such a great opportunity opened up to the general public," Rogers said. "And not just high-profile designers in New York, Washington or Chicago. Politics aside, I am proud to show the nation that Tulsa's creativity is equal to that of any place in the country."
The three winners receive a framed print of their poster signed by the president, and a limited edition of their poster will be sold in the campaign store. Proceeds benefit the Obama campaign.
Rogers is a senior graphic designer for the Tulsa Area United Way. His poster features an American flag made of red steel beams. The message below the flag reads, "Rebuilding America: Let's Work Together to Build a Better Country."
New City Official Named
Mayor Dewey Bartlett Jr. promoted Tom Golliver to Chief Information Officer for the city of Tulsa, effective Jan. 1.
Golliver was promoted from his position as the director of information services. "I am pleased to appoint Tom Golliver to this critical position for the city of Tulsa as we focus on making the best use of our resources in the fast-changing environment of information technology," Bartlett said.
Golliver is the latest announcement in a slate of new appointments Bartlett announced in the run-up to 2012. Other new hires include the mayor's new chief of staff, Jarred Brejcha, and new city attorney, David O'Meilia.
As chief information officer, Golliver will direct the city of Tulsa's information technology department and serve as a member of the city's executive leadership team to influence strategic business decisions regarding the use of technology.
