History Comes to Life. Tracing the tracks of your ancestors will now be easier with the release of the 1940 U.S. Federal Census.

After the 72-year privacy restriction is lifted on April 2, genealogists will have the opportunity to find that lost family connection by searching through names of more than 132 million people who lived in the 48 states in 1940.

Before this release, Tulsa City-County Library's Genealogy Center, 2901 S. Harvard, will present "Locating Family on the 1940 Census," Feb. 16, from 6:30-7:30pm. Kathy Huber, Genealogy Center manager, will demonstrate tools that will be made available with the public release of the census. Visit tulsalibrary.org for more information.

Smile. The Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) joins with the American Dental Association (ADA) every year to promote the importance of dental health for children and local dental health events during February, which is National Children's Dental Health Month. Parents and caregivers can help children get an early start in learning how to take care of their teeth and gums. The slogan for this year's observance is, "Rock Your Smile!"

For more information about Children's Dental Health Month and events planned during February, or for posters, fun activity sheets, and educational resources, browse the American Dental Association website at ada.org.
