Cara Ann Rob, a junior at Oklahoma State University majoring in strategic communication, has always known that she wanted to be a writer. "I remember writing my first story when I was eight-years-old, and I never stopped," Rob said. "It was about a couple of kids who were stuck inside on a rainy day -- because I'm sure that's what I was doing at the time."
Among her many hobbies, Rob is highly interested in baking. "I'm totally into using local, organic ingredients," she said, as she described a four-layer cocoanut cake made for her grandfather. She also reads Wikipedia pages "like they are going out of style," she said. "Random information -- you can never learn enough."
At 15, Rob became an intern at the Tulsa World, and experience that led her to seek a career in journalism. Her studies at OSU have included courses in the public relations and advertizing aspects of journalism, but she hopes to be able to make a career out of her true passion.
"I'd really like to write for a newspaper or magazine," Rob said, "but my ultimate, pie-in-the-sky dream would be to be a sketch-writer for Saturday Night Live and be the next Tina Fey. Really, any profession I could be a writer in, I'd like to do that (except writing manuals)."
