Although summer is nearing an end (at least for those headed back to school), that doesn't mean the concert calendar is slowing down. Once again, we've got a busy weekend ahead of us. As always, we've got the highlights to get you headed out the door and in the right direction.

Thursday, August 16

It's a big night for country music as one of the biggest country tours of the year arrives at BOK Center. All around country superstar Brad Paisley headlines the night, but welcomes special guests The Band Perry and Easton Corbin for this one. You'll want to arrive early, however, if you want to get a sneak preview of the next crop of rising stars as Paisley provides a "Virtual Opry" stage to showcase Kristen Kelly, Jana Kramer and Love & Theft, beginning at 5pm. Later that night, Love & Theft headlines its own "After Party" concert at Cain's Ballroom. Brandon Clark Band opens at 9:30pm and tickets are only $8 at the door if you present your ticket stub from the Paisley show. Also for the country crowd, Thomas Martinez play Woody's to give you another post concert option to wrap up your night.

Friday, August 17

Vandevander ends its quiet period and opens a busy weekend with a free show at Crystal Pistol on Friday evening. While in the neighborhood, you can also catch The Cab with Parachute at Cain's Ballroom or Dante and the Hawks at Hunt Club. Stepping out of downtown, you can also catch Chase Stites Band at Crow Creek or the always hot Dustin Pittsley Band at The Colony.

Saturday, August 18

Vandevander follows up with an even louder night of rock at Fassler Hall to wrap up the band's weekend and The Vanguard features a solid night of indie rock with The Low Litas, Gentle Ghost and Brother Rabbit. If you're looking for something more roots oriented with a touch of soul, check out Sons of Fathers at Mercury Lounge and if you're looking to dance, you can either catch Crossland at Woody's or head to Hunt Club to party with Sam & the Stylees.

Sunday, August 19

The Jazz Hall of Fame summer concert series continues with a great display of Tulsa talent as Jay Garrett and Annie Ellicott pair up for a special show that will leave you awestruck at 5pm. Later in the night you can wrap up your weekend with old favorites like Paul Benjaman at The Colony or Brandon Clark's "Sunday Service" at Mercury Lounge.
