More than OK Corral. Meeting in the cushy air conditioning of a theatre is no dusty road at high noon, but the excitement levels may be similar. Grab your posse and popcorn for the midday classic High Noon. This 1952 western starring Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly will be shown at 2pm and 7pm at Cinemark Tulsa, 10802 E. 71st St. S. Tickets cost $6 for children and seniors and $6.75 for the 2pm showing and $8.50 for the 7pm showing for adults.



aolorful Crowd. Feeling a bit dull this Friday? Buck up and literally brighten your day by attending Immersed in Ink. Featuring professional artists from around the country, this is a chance for those interested in the art of tattoos to get to know both those who do and those who adorn, with perhaps a curious few who do neither thrown in for good measure. Have or have none, you are sure to be welcomed by all. The event begins at 2pm at the Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center, 6808 S. 107th E. Ave. Entertainment will include human suspension, sideshows, a comedy and magic show, belly dancing and more. A bounce house is provided for children.



Native Pride. This weekend come to Tahlequah and celebrate the 60th Cherokee National Holiday. Held in remembrance of the signing of the Cherokee Constitution in 1893, this three day event is not only a celebration of the tribe's past, but also a celebration of its present and future. Open to all, various events will take place during the Cherokee National Holiday, including a parade, children's events and a car show. Vendors will be on hand offering authentic Native American products such as food, artwork, pottery, blankets and other unique items. Good Ole Gals. She's a little bit country, she's a little bit rock and roll. Scratch that-the women of Honkey Tonk Angels are country to the core. Piled high with down-home hilarity, come see the journey of three friends as they travel from the dirt roads of their hometown to the star studded streets of Nashville in a quest for fame. This musical, filled with honkey-tonk classics such as "Stand By Your Man" and "Coal Miner's Daughter" is fun for everyone who craves the dust of the back roads and the glamour of pure country. The show starts at 2pm at the Broken Arrow Community Playhouse, 1800 S. Main St., Broken Arrow.



Labor of Love. To sign up for more hard work on this national holiday ... well, you would have to love running now wouldn't you? Come join the pack and break a sweat this labor day at Escape From Turkey Mountain, a rural run through the Turkey Mountain Wilderness Area. For die-hard runners this event is a must, but it is also a perfect opportunity to meet new friends and experience a wilderness run for the first time. Hit Like a Girl. This is one thing that the women of ORU's Volleyball team surely are not guilty of as they gear up for all the action in store at Spike it Volleyball. This week the Golden Eagles go head to head, or rather hand to net, with the University of Tulsa Golden Hurricanes in a battle between two of the city's largest schools. Get ready for the flurry of excitement in store, this event takes place at ORU's Aerobics Center, 7777 S. Lewis Ave. Doors open at 7pm.



Listen Up. Not quite a liquid lunch, although similarly light in nature and sure to flatter figures of all types, Music Sandwiched In is the perfect way to unwind both midweek and midday. Let the sounds of Rogers and Hammerstien classics permeate your mind and relax away the week's stress with this auditory indulgence. Held at 12:10pm in the Aaronson Auditorium at Central Library, 400 Civic Center, this uplifting fare is sure to satisfy your auditory cravings.



Surf and Turf. Oklahoma may not have beaches, but what it lacks in coast it makes up for in history. Involving a virtual triumvirate of classics the second annual Blue Tie Affair will be a dinner featuring steak catered by Molly's Landing served along side the historic Route 66 Blue Whale. Come see this summertime splash palace transformed into a sophisticated watering hole, complete with live music and various wines from local vineyards.
