Columnist Critique

Dear UTW:

I actually found editorials in the Jan. 24-30 issue interesting. Ray Pearcey in spot on with his "focused deterrence." What's with Terry Simonson? His column is a reality check on the Gun Control nuts vs. the gun rights nuts. Way to go Mr. Simonson! Put Mr. Simonson centralist thoughts with Mr. Pearcys focused deterrence and wha-la crime will shortly be under control! ... Oh wait a minute, no. With the shrill race baiters there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth about all the racial profiling. Mr. Rant n Rall picks a good subject but as usual proves to us readers that he hasn't got a clue. But it's still entertaining. As for Mr. Hamilton? I use that section for TP.

Subtle Reference to the Battle of Leningrad?

Dear UTW:

I would like to know if our state is joining in to defend our Constitution. Why would any citizen not? The president for some reason thinks this is Russia and he is Hitler! Have you noticed all the ammo Homeland Security has bought? Did you know he is asking the military if they will fire upon citizens? Did you know he is illegally in office forging his birth certificate and other documents? He needs impeached and there are plenty of petitions going around! People defending him should stand in front of all of us who are not when he fires on us!

Let him take all their rights away! They need to take whatever he does because they voted the Antichrist in, which most backed out after he lied to them, which shows they have brains and are not sheep! They like him so much they can go against our Constitution with him (tyranny) and be punished with him! What is wrong with people? Is it because you like the lazy state benefits that he is stripping from you by the end of the year? Better get ready to get a J-O-B!

Enjoy the benefits of being communist! Enjoy your trip to the slaughter your shepherd is leading you to! Dont come asking us with a backbone for help, because you turned your back against us! Wait, we would help you because we believe in uniting and are not lazy! We will hand you a shovel!

Crunching the Numbers

Dear UTW:

As a black grass root economist (on Medicare and Social Security Disability) I have a personal interest in Washington, D.C. economic and financial conflict. The federal government averaged borrowing $400 billion a year from l983 to 1998 and when they stopped in 1998 we went into a recession in 2001. The economy is a giant economic balloon. The federal government pumped $6 trillion into the system in 2001 and then the consumer went out and purchased houses, cars, and other imports through the current account/trade deficit. From 2004 to 2008 we lost $3.4 trillion from our system through the current account-trade deficit. In one year we lost $800 billion. This is reason for the recession for 2008.

Since 2000 we have lost over $500 billion a year by buying merchandise from foreign countries. Sixty-five percent of our loss is because of oil. This could change immediately if President Obama opens Alaska, Canadian pipeline, federal properties and off shore drilling. If we close the current account-trade deficit due to oil, we would have an extra income of $2.4 trillion by the end of this decade and hundreds of thousands of jobs would be created.

The executive branch could walk in Monday morning and start a energy renaissance of oil, gas and clean coal in America. Instantly. They would help every American citizens. If they put America first.

Now, they are trying to figure out granny's future in America. As we have stated before senior citizens' reduction in benefits will not resolve America's long term problems. America is losing too much money out of the systems each hour each day each year. The system is like a giant deflating balloon (federal government pumps money in and the consumers spend through the current account-trade deficit). The federal government prints, borrows, and transfers money inside the system. But the main drainage of money is through the current account-trade deficit. The Federal Reserve will print and buy back a trillion dollar this year. The Treasure Department will borrow another trillion dollars. If you face reality the tax increases and cutting my Medicare and Social Security are just the beginning. Who will be next?

The Obama Appeasers

Dear UTW:

President Obama's recent picks for Secretary of Defense -- Chuck Hagel -- and Secretary of State -- John Kerry -- call into question Obama's judgment and wisdom and his ability to lead this country.

Chuck Hagel opposed the successful troop surge in Iraq and he wants to prematurely pull troops out of Afghanistan. He believes in placating Communist Cuba and wants to negotiate with the terrorist organizations Hamas and Hezbollah. Hagel is committed to negotiating with Iran on its nuclear development program. He wants to make dramatic cuts to our military, which will weaken our national security posture. Hagel will be in lockstep with Obama and will continue the policies of appeasement.

John Kerry, a decorated Vietnam War veteran with medals that Swift Boat commanders stated he did not deserve, will march to Obama's tune of appeasement. Kerry, in congressional hearings, turned on his fellow Vietnam War veterans. He could be another apologist for the Obama administration.

As a former Navy enlisted man and officer, I question the ability of the Obama/Hagel/Kerry threesome to lead this country from a position of strength in the world. I do not have confidence in the capabilities of these key individuals to promote our national security.
