Art Alive. Taking physically demanding tasks and turning them into art is what Kate Gilmore does, and you can see for yourself at August's Philbrook Third Thursdays. Part sculpture, part performance, and part video, Gilmore's work and process will be on display, and this particular instance, she'll be on hand to talk about it between 5:30 and 7:30pm.

Bringing together Oklahoma's native ties to ballet in the Tallchiefs with Osage music, dance, and arts, Wahzhazhe, An Osage Ballet runs at the PAC this weekend. With sets depicting the Osage life and costumes reflecting Osage costuming, this should prove to be a fascinating balletic enterprise.
Do You Say "Gin" When You Win, or Do You Take A Shot? Raising money to fund its trip to Canada next month for a theater competition, Broken Arrow Community Theatre performs The Gin Game at Sapulpa Community Theater for one night only. The play is a good one, since it won a contest allowing for a trip to the Great White North.
You've Got Some Esplaining To Do. While Lucy and Ethyl won't be there, you can still participate in what most certainly must be a tribute to one of the funniest episodes in the history of television at the Grape Stomp and Lunch, benefitting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Wine, music, and silent auctions accompany the stomping of the poor little defenseless grapes, and $25 tickets are available through TulsaTNT.org.
It Might Not All Rhyme. And there will most certainly not be any limericks about people from Nantucket, but you should still check out Cypher 120 with Written Quincey at The Creative Room at 8pm for open mic madness. And remember, we snap to express approval.

Still Ahead of Connecticut At Press Time. So the Shock aren't in first place. An evening with our WNBA squad is no less fun. The Shock look to avenge last Sunday's loss to the Phoenix Mercury tonight at 7pm.
OMG I'm So Starving. Why Isn't There a Motorized Vehicle With Food Inside of It Barreling Toward Me? Well, because they are all parked at the Guthrie Green for Food Truck Wednesdays. Summer has been kind to us, allowing us to eat in the great outdoors without being cooked alive. Back from the exile that was the temporary closing of the Green, the trucks just want you to eat a decent meal, damnit, since you're not listening to your mother on that front.

Point of Information: He Did NOT Play Opie in Sons. The Osage Casino brings the country music stylings of large-bearded Jamey Johnson tonight for some tunes and probably some campaigning to get Hank Cochran into the Country Music Hall of Fame, Johnson's current obsession. And who knows? He might even explain who that is.
