Just a note regarding the previous post about this bill affecting someone born in America. If you are born on US soil, you are entitled to US Citizenship. Thus, if a mother comes across the border illegally and her child is born in a US hospital, the child gets to be a Citizen, even though she doesn't.
My heart honestly goes out to those who flee to this country from any other to try and make a better life for themselves. I don't believe it should be as difficult or costly for someone to gain legal citizenship here as it currently is. I see it as another barrier to those who can't make ends meet back home as it is.
I'll leave you with this one quote that should have settled the matter decades ago.
"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
